I have worked on Salesforce Higher Education instances for 2+ years both from the beginning of implementation to scaling the environment. Both have been leading higher education institutions not only working on student engagement, but enriching the community.
Ease of use and free training services for users of any caliber. They don't have to be incredibly tech savvy to get through their work day. The support services are great, whether youre submitting a question to the Trailblazer community or submitting a bug ticket; you'll always find the answer you're looking for. The scalability across the enterprise is amazing - Salesforce continues to come out with upgrades and patches which allows the enterprise to grow in the virtual realm. New additions are added that keep our users on their feet and drives adoption.
From an Administration standpoint the click and drag code is amazing. You don't need to have an expert in computer science managing your instance.
I don't have many dislikes other than the cost - many first time implementers will get sticker shock when looking at salesforce Implementations. It's not so much of a dislike; but it's something to be wary of if you are thinking about proposing an implementation.
Really focus on developing a well thought out RFP when moving forward with implementation partners. You'll want a partner who has done implementations specifically in the field of your interests.
Robust data collection, external communications and constituent history, and internal collaboration and streamlining.
Salesforce eliminated data silos in both of my organizations. This tool brought together a single source of truth and now users won't have to email and ask for a report; things can be done easily, ad hoc, with increased up-time. The increase in productivity allows for workers to really focus on the more meaningful tasks like analysis and communication, because Salesforce assists so well with the menial tasks.
Education cloud features like multiple address management, credentials management, relationship management, TDTM trigger framework these features are really cool
There is nothing to deslike but it can provide some more eventing features.
I recommend every educational University to use Salesforce for education as it is really easy to use and it easily sits on top of your current business to leverage it's potential.
Integration from external Application system to flow in data to Salesforce, than Enrollment Process automation and Eventing on education objects to know about student progress withing external system.
Managed packages available so you don't need to do everything from scratch

Using SpedAdvantage through Salesforce has improved the way I do all of my special education paperwork. If you are a SPED teacher, you know how time consuming it can be. I could go on and on how this software has made it easier through better organization, reminders of upcoming due dates, accessible to a student’s team members, logging communication, the list goes on.
At times, SpedAdvantage may have a glitch or will not save items but when we run into those problems there are support personnel that are fast in response and very helpful with working through the problem.
Please take the time to make sure that SpedAdvantage is right for your district and go through the structure of the forms so that they are formatted to fit your specific district needs and requirements.
I feel that students information is in a central location. It is easy to give all team members access to a students information and allows them to make changes without adding more to my plate so to speak, and allows school districts to customize their forms to their specific needs and types of information to include which many districts are different in their paperwork structure. Customer service is fast and easy. Transferring students to a new case manager is easy.
Organization of information allowing for easy accessibility and clean data management. Easy to train and software offers many customization features to better fit a company's needs.
Software being paired with other software programs can cause hiccups in efficiency. If using Salesforce at the same time as another software, there can be glitches between the two from time to time.
Data management, lead generation/progression, student lifecycles and tracking, documentation, etc.
I like that Salesforce offers a product that helps break down the silo's within higher education. Using the Salesforce Advisor Portal combined with case management, allows visibility into what is happening with a particular student at any point in the recruitment or student life cycle. From prospect to alumni, we can see where the student has been and their experience thus far.
Nothing, I love Salesforce Education cloud for higher ed.
Using SAL and case management together with Marketing Cloud offer a very transparent look into students within higher education.
We are solving an issue with transparency among different departments and use cases. Our advisors use Salesforce differently than our recruiters or support staff but all of them have needs that must be met and configured to play nicely.
The functionality is not watered down at all just because we are a smaller shop on a large platform.
The billing in general can be hard to follow
Process automation has been huge for us. It has helped with application processing communications etc.
Using Salesforce for recruitment efforts has been a game changer. It is user-friendly and intuitive, increases efficiency and organization like crazy, and has opened up countless opportunities for us to refine our processes and offer applicants a better experience.
Honestly nothing; there is no perfect system, but Salesforce comes closer than anything else I've worked with.
One problem with managing a large volume of applicants is that people can easily slip through the cracks. By allowing us to create tasks for each step of the process (especially using if-then scenarios/conditional programming), Salesforce has allowed us to stay on top of each applicant.
it is so easy to use and navigate. Helps plan out my day and weeks. Also helps with recaps with management for my accounts.
Sometimes the dropdowns are tedious and sometimes lead to laziness to not wanting to fill it all out.

Was not hard to understand how the app works. Easy to navigate and if I had to explain to anyone how to use it I would feel confident in doing so. Compared to others I think this would be on the top of my list.
At the moment I do not find or see anything I dislike so far. Continuing using the Salesforce software if I happen to come across anything I will most definitely update my review for others to read as well as to help build a better app.
Making a better workplace and being in a good environment with less stress is key to having a good workday. Being more productive is the main thing on my list and having this be so easy helps me be more productive everyday.
