ProBackup is an automated cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery service built specifically for SaaS applications. Most SaaS providers guarantee platform uptime but not recovery of an individual customer's data. What does ProBackup do?

ProBackup captures daily, automated full backups of SaaS app data - tasks, records, files, comments, and field configurations - across 20+ apps including Asana, ClickUp, monday.com, HubSpot, Airtable, Trello, Notion, Jira, Slack, and Google Workspace. Backups run automatically through a secure OAuth connection, with no scheduling or manual intervention.

Why back up SaaS apps? Doesn't the provider handle that?

SaaS vendors keep their platforms running, but recovering an individual customer's data is that customer's responsibility. A provider can't undo a spiralling AI agent, a human mistake, or a botched bulk update. Native recycle bins offer only short retention. ProBackup guards against human error, outages, malicious insiders, ransomware, and AI-agent mishaps.

How does restore work? Will it overwrite current data?

No. When a project or task is restored, ProBackup doesn't overwrite or change existing data - a copy is recreated from the backup and added to the parent entity. Individual records, comments, files, or entire projects can be recovered in a few clicks, with related data such as subtasks and attachments restored together.

For some data types (such as Asana tasks or HubSpot contacts) it is possible however to overwrite selected values of existing records.

Does restore actually work when it matters?

Customers report that it does. Stephen Karbelk, Partner at DSP Real Estate Capital, has used ProBackup for around two years and describes needing to restore data once, saying the process was super great and super easy, and he got everything needed. Larry Dukhovny, Owner at MyBizGeek, notes that finding files and attempting restores worked seamlessly in his own testing.

How far back can data be restored?

ProBackup keeps daily snapshots with full version history - six months on Plus, two years on Pro, and unlimited on Premium - so a single deleted record, a departed user's tasks, or an entire wiped project can be recovered from a chosen point in time.

What happens if someone deletes a lot of data at once?

ProBackup continuously monitors for anomalies. It sends deletion alerts when unusual deletion activity is detected, volume warnings when backed-up item counts drop significantly, and weekly status emails summarizing backup health — so problems are caught before they become disasters.

What data types are captured?

Tasks, items, records, comments, attachments, files, custom fields, project structures, and field configurations - everything the source platform's API exposes. The full hierarchy can be browsed in the Vault, searched across all apps and time periods, and exported to Excel or synced to Google Drive.

Which apps does ProBackup support?

Can data be kept outside ProBackup?

Yes. Records sync automatically to Google Sheets (updated daily) and attachments save to organized Google Drive folders, providing an independent copy in a familiar format. This is available on Pro and Premium plans.

Can ProBackup help with migrating between platforms?

It can serve as a clean source. ProBackup provides an independent, standardized copy of complex data structures, which makes future platform migrations cleaner, faster, and less risky.

How does ProBackup handle SaaS API rate limits?

The backup engine intelligently reschedules failed backup attempts to avoid API limitations and ensure data is always captured. Throttling is engineered to respect vendor rate limits while maximizing throughput, so backups complete without triggering platform errors.

How is data secured, and where is it stored?

Backups and access tokens are secured with AES 256-bit encryption, using a different initialisation vector for every record. Data is stored exclusively in AWS data centres in Dublin, Ireland, encrypted at rest. ProBackup is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant.

How is pricing structured?

Only one license is needed to back up a team's data; pricing isn't based on seats. Plans start at $25/month (Plus), with Pro at $38/month and Premium at $76/month, and price scales with data volume rather than the number of tools connected.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, no credit card required, with full access to the selected plan's features. Accounts are automatically paused at the end of the trial if no subscription is started.

Is ProBackup difficult to set up? Does it need IT involvement?

No. ProBackup is built for product-led self-onboarding - if a user can connect an app like Slack or Zapier, they can set it up. There's nothing to install and no infrastructure to manage, and one-click restore means IT involvement isn't needed to recover data. A first app can be connected in about three minutes.
