As an electrical engineer working mainly on a Mac, Parallels has been a game-changer. It allows me to run Windows-based engineering tools like AutoCAD, ETAP, and vendor specific configuration software directly on my MacBook with Apple Silicon. The performance is surprisingly smooth, especially on M1/M2 chips. The seamless integration between macOS and Windows (like shared clipboard and file sync) makes multitasking between environments incredibly efficient

One limitation is the need for a separate Windows license, which can be a hassle if you're just getting started. Occasionally, I experience minor issues with USB dongles or external licensing hardware not being detected properly. Also, some graphic intensive 3D CAD apps may not perform as smoothly as on native Windows hardware

Parallels helps bridge the gap between macOS and essential engineering software that only runs on Windows. I no longer need to switch devices or carry an extra Windows laptop to get work done. It saves time, space, and boosts my productivity especially when working remotely or on-site.

Ease of use, ability to share HW & SW resources between different OSs, stability. Very easy to setup and use. No maintenance required. Auto snapshots are life-saver.

Notthing on the down side really, so far so good

Running Windows 11 on a macbook at the same time. Solved the problem of dual boot.

PAralles Desktop is ease to use , easy for implementation and have a lot of features. The swith for mac to windows or another vm is very fast.

I do not dislike , the transition is perfect and the device sharing to Vm

The windows or other apps not working on mac and parallels solve the problem

It's seem less integration with the host machine. The virtual machine doesn't even feel like a virtual machine. It feels like an independent operating system running on actual hardware than on a virtual layer.

I'm not an everyday user of the software so the price it bit high for someone like me.

It was easy to install, and is easy to use with well written documentation.

It takes up more disk space than I expected.

I am now able to run another operating system.

I love how easy and simple it is to use. It's virtually painless to get it up and running and works near flawlessly! I have no overall need to use another computer or windows laptop to get my work done as it can run windows programs in MacOs.

The price has been increasing and now the previous price for a permanent license is now the price for a 1-year subscription. It would also be nice to have a little more flexibility with the Virtual RAM and Virtual CPUs in the standard edition now that Macs in general are becoming more powerful.

Parallels has absolutley removed the necessity to require a windows PC for work. It has made my computing needs and traveling far easier by having the ability to use both Mac and Windows in a single device.

Parallels Desktop is really an fantastic software developed to experience windows interface with Mac. With the help of this software you can use both Mac and windows at the same time and can run applications of both the platforms simultaneously.

Parallels Desktop is not a free software and is not compatible with the lower versions of MacOS than 10.15 which is Catalina.

It helps in using windows platform applications in MacOS without any complications. It saves the files of windows also in the MacOS directory so we can access the files in both Mac and windows. It does not put much load on the hardware system.

The look and feel are great: It seems to be just a regular tab you are using, it is smooth to work and the VM refreshes quickly. Easy to use. The IT guy who configured my VM mentioned that Parallels may be having some issues with Apple M2 Chip machines, however, mine is working perfectly,

So far I like it all, there is nothing to complain about.

There are some business Apps that do not run on MAC machines, which is why Parallels VM helps me to run those Apps on a Microsoft VM.
