"Best learning library hands down"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

O'Reilly has the most publishers, so has the most books. Also, there is a nearly endless selection of videos, and a stream of live learning with experts, usually who are also their book authors. Other platforms are limited to a single publisher, but O'Reilly has themselves, Addisson Wesley, APress, Manning, Pragmatic Programmers, and so on. If there is technical content I want and it is not on O'Reilly, it is probably free, or it doesn't exist.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

The audiobook feature is bad. There are business titles that I want on audiobook, but it is difficult to set it up to listen in the background during workouts or chores. For example, playback stopped when the screen locked itself. Neither Audible nor a podcast player do this.

Recommendations to others considering O'Reilly:

It's everything you need to get good at technology.

What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a software engineering manager, I need to keep refreshing my skills in order to stay relevant. If I want more than a blog article level of understanding, I need resources like this. This is the best one.

"Most comprehensive platform for tech content. More than anyone can consume in a lifetime."
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

It combines the best publishers into one and O'Reilly's exclusive titles are consistently high quality issues. The search feature is always good at locating the best match for the topic. There is even an AI feature that accepts human-like queries and dives into the catalog to return snippets of text that match the subject.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

The Android app is buggy. I haven't seen it improve this past year. The iOS app is solid.

The live session recordings can be challenging to find and rewatch. The user experience is less consistent here since they reside on a third-party platform.

What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?

O'Reilly helps keep tech professionals current in the industry.

"Approachable, robust, current and industry leading"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

The literature published through O'Reilly and their partners are best in breed. There simply is no comparison. I've learned some of the best tips and tricks through their platform. I've also been able to practice for exams using their platform along with study guides and sample tests. Additionally, as I continue to learn to grow personally and professionally, they always have something new to cover a topic that's up and coming.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

It's expensive. But, like the old maxium, you get what you pay for.

What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?

I often want a trusted source with approachable yet thorough coverage on a topic. O'Reilly's platform offers that an so much more. They're a single source of truth I can count on to learn and develop my skills without the noise you so often find on the open internet.

"Best Computer Science books repository"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

I graduated with an MSc in Computer Science last year, thanks in part to O'Reilly for the many useful books available. I am currently working in the field of information security and use O'Reilly's services regularly as they are up to date, with the best books from the best experts available in fields that changes almost daily.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

There used to be problems with the search engine, but this problem was solved about a year ago when O'Reilly enabled a lot of functions, you can search by publication date, publisher etc.

What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?

When specific professional issues arise, such as resilience, any subjects of computer science, risk management approaches, or preparing for professional exams (e.g. CISSP, CCSP), I can easily find books written on the subjects. I can look right through them, even by keyword searching to easily find the parts I need. I don't have to buy books that I couldn't use later. It is easy to take notes and summaries.

"O'Reilly G2 Review"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

O'Reilly has most of the books required to stay up to date in my profession. I use O'Reilly in the browser, on the iPad, and sometimes even on my mobile phone to search for answers when I have a problem.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

Most of the time, I find what I need in the catalog for my job. At this time I don't have any complaints about the product.

What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have many sources of information, and I can access all of them with one annual payment. I can solve problems faster because I have all the information needed at hand.

"Easily the best learning platform for busy professionals"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

O'Reilly is a fantastic self-service platform for professionals who need to quickly upskill or who need a battle-tested, authoritative take on a topic. It gives me what I need without making me jump through hoops.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

The interface to get in and out of live sessions needs a bit of work. It's easy from an email and hard from the portal. Navigating it with back to back meetings means I need to prepare more if I don't want to miss the first minutes.

What problems is O'Reilly solving and how is that benefiting you?

Training staff requires authoritative information that I can point them at. Training myself is the same – apart from vendor documentation, O'Reilly is the main "source of truth" among endless blogs that are more or less anecdotal.
