Simple to use platform for testing, very intuitive! Also easy to interpret test results and the student-progress windows are in student-friendly language and view

Some of the test format (particularly the reading passages and style of test questioning, need updating. Also, I would very much like to see a linking document for the PSAT 8/9

Useful for differentiation!

It's tough in higher education to know where each student is at in the learning spectrum.

I love how the NWEA suite allows us as educators to assess our students using an interface they can quickly become familiar with. It also allows us to monitor the exam and it is all online

The student-facing interface is easy to use, but the admin site can take time to learn. luckily, there are a ton of resources for training

We can assess our kids with the Illinois Map exam, and our proctors have become comfortable with it because of its ease.

I love how the data is broken down into strands. For instance the Reading test will tell me how my students did with nonfiction type reading, with vocabulary, and with fiction reading. The tests adapts to the student unlike the other standardized tests we give.This is so critical for my elementary students. There is a huge achievement gap amongst my students, but this test pushes them only as hard as they are able to handle.

The only thing I don't like is the way the test appears on the screen can be hard to read especially for the 2nd and third graders that are used to a larger font. The recommended computer settings keep the font pretty small. You can not change that once you begin the test.

This is a great software for testing students. The reports are helpful and broken down into meaningful strands. You can find our what skills the scores represent therefore it helps drive instruction. There is a built in goal setting report that helps you make this score more concrete during student goal setting. And best of all the test adapts to the student so those students that are working above or below grade level are being assessed fairly and accurately.

Getting data, data driven instruction, student goal setting, and parent communication are the most important benefits.

The data from the student assessment is purposeful for the teacher as well as student friendly

The length of the tests—wish they were shorter. At least able to complete in one class period

Brooke is amazing. Her professional learning sessions are top-notch. Any organization considering implementing MAP should start with her.

Hope to use

Quick and easy to administer. I also likes how it notifies the administrator when students are going too fast

It is hard to show growth and kids scores vary so much. Kids are also given way too hard questions when they are doing well and they end up frustrated and in tears

Have students reach a “max level” to avoid frustration. Do not give 2nd graders multiplication because they are just guessing. Then their score goes down the next time they take it and it gets frustrated. Have students max out at a benchmark

Students assessments.

I like that it is individualized and adjusts to the student's level. We are able to test our entire elementary at one time and then our entire JH/HS at another time.

Just having difficulties with connection issues or the site being down for problems. It then throws the schedule off and we feel like we lost a whole period of testing and/or instruction.

I would definitely recommend using it. It can also be used as a screening for new students coming into your school.

Faster way to assess and get data back. Data is organized and you can print various types of data to assist in planning.

I love using NWEA- MAPs to assess where my students need support and where they are growing. It's a reliable tool that is easy for students and teachers to use.

I dislike having to wait 24 hours until I can generate a report on my student's assessment.

NWEA provides reliable information that teachers and students can use to enrich learning experiences.

We use NWEA Assessments as a tool to direct our teaching, for student goal setting, and as a communication tool for parents.

I liked the growth reports that NWEA provided, as well as the predictive reports for state testing.

I disliked the the format of the control window while students were testing. It seemed difficult to pause, resume, or get students logged back in to their original place of testing if connectivity issues arose.

In our state, standardized testing is changing once again. It is unclear whether this program will align with the standards being assessed and how they are assessed.

The problems that were being solved were gathering rich data to inform instruction, predict scoring on standardized testing, and determining levels of growth for individual students.

This assessment platform is excellent with timely reporting of student data. The data has the ability to track students over a period of time. Goal setting opportunities and customized learning is one of the highlights of this assessment platform.

There are few things I dislike about NWEA MAP. Over the past six year, NWEA continues to evolve and improve their product.

We are able to pinpoint student educational needs with this program.

I like that RIT scores are easy for students and teachers to see growth from assessment to assessment.

The adaptive testing sometimes gives students questions to are so difficult.

Make sure computer browsers are up to date. It is difficult for students who have fine motor difficulties to click and drag on some features.

Benefits have been that it has made tracking growth a lot easier and gathering normative data. The problems we have had involve difficulties with computers and managing student use.
