It is relatively simple to use. I didn't need much direction to access the video chat i needed.

It could use updated UI. It is functional but could look nicer.

I have worked with this kind of software before and I love how easy it is. I think that the thing that I like the most about next step is how everything is electronically. I like how even when something is not done electronically, it can be scanned and uploaded to NextStep.

I sometimes dislike the fact that NextStep times out. While I see the benefit in this, I would like for things to save BEFORE it times out. Sometimes files that I am working on time out while I am on lunch and then when I come back, all of my hard work is gone. I would like an automatic save option.

I would completely, whole heartedly recommend this software. If you have rookie, like me, that you want to learn the ropes in a short amount of time and be good at their jobs, please consider NextStep Behavioral Health Integrated Care Software.

I am doing the work of assessing substance abuse issues and diagnosing clients with substance abuse disorders. I see the benefits of NextStep through the DSM-V section in the main menu. It is usually pretty easy to diagnose people, however when it is not, I can go to that section and look up why a person may have on diagnosis vs.

The ease of use for clinicians as well as the customization for other programs.

The finance side is a little difficult to work with.

The program is really great and very customizable. Start-up costs are not cheap. Implementation is fine, not easy, but not too difficult or overwhelming. The financial side of the system is not as integrated as hoped and hard to use.

The thing I like best about NextStep is that it is online. NextStep custom built the application with our forms so that it has everything we are required to have.

First, not all of the components that we paid for worked properly. Customer service has been less than ideal. The reporting and billing features also do not work as promised. The EMAR that we paid for took a couple of years for them to build for it to be functional and is still not 100%. The reports feature that we were promised does not build all the different types of reports that we requested. The program is extremely slow to load and freezes often. It is not the most user-friendly EHR out there.

The only benefit is that our charts are online and can be accessed across facilities. It is convenient that multiple users at different locations can work on it, but this would be true of most EHRs. It is helpful to not have pages and pages of paper charts. This also helps cut down on administrative time filing paper notes.
