It’s highly customizable, and ThirdWave is great to work with. Integrating it with other software is doable and makes our job more efficient

There are a few things that aren’t doable or are restricted, and some tasks still have to be done manually. That’s okay with me, though.

It allows us to keep all patient and clinic information in one place. This also helps us stay audit-ready, since we can automate our reports and don’t need to rely on countless spreadsheets. Overall, it helps us do our job better.

I think inventory management and sample tracking is most helpful. Additionally, having the software perform calculations for you is a major bonus.

I haven't actually used the system in my daily work but there are a few things that I think could trip someone up. Not easily being able to go back to the previous procedure when executing a protocol is irritating. It requires you to click out and select again the procedure you want to review. Not having timers integrated into the procedures is a hindrance when so much of science requires timing. Having 6 options that have to do with saving, completing, and exiting a procedure is too many. Refining that would be helpful.

The robustness of the software and the configurability. The support received from the developers are also amazing.

Nothing really. There are some pain points but they are more related to Salesforce.

It gives us a full LIMS system that perfectly integrates with our lab.

Lockbox worked closely with our team to understand our processes and procedures, then created flows for our very unique and complex testing environment. Training our team has been straightforward, with most parts of the workflow mastered in a few training sessions, and if there are issues or we have questions, Janine and Sita are quick to reply and help us resolve the issue.

An update (17-Feb-2026): we have gone through several system updates, including a full version update, and Lockbox continues to meet our needs. These updates have been relatively easy to implement around the existing workflows, with a minimum of stress. Over the years our partnership has become even more one of collaboration rather than a service as they have shared more knowledge of the inner workings of Lockbox, and I have really appreciated the opportunity to actively participate in improvement efforts.

Its customizable features and dashboard, user-friendliness and team behind Lockbox LIMS make it a great tool in our laboratory.

Update: We’ve expanded our use of Lockbox LIMS and it has again proven to be an invaluable tool for managing samples. The team, especially Janine, has always been very responsive and helpful whenever we have any issues or need to understand certain functions.

Lockbox LIMS offers a complex solution for genomics laboratories. The system architecture captures standard laboratory workflows well. Build on Salesforce platform, it delivers exceptional flexibility and integration capabilities, allowing for deep customization to meet unique laboratory requirements.

The support team is incredibly responsive and helpful, providing us with invaluable assistance across a wide variety of issues, from everyday user to complex developer issues.

Documentation is at times complicated which prolongs implementation of custom behaviour. The answers to the problems usually are in the documentation, but it's hard to find them.

Lockbox has proven to be a highly convenient tool for our team, enabling us to transition from physical data collection to an online interface. This shift has not only improved our data integrity but also made data analysis more efficient. Our use case for Lockbox is quite specialized, and the team at Third Wave Analytics (TWA) developed a custom system tailored to our requirements that was straightforward to implement. We have consistently found the TWA team to be both effective and responsive when it comes to customer support. Lockbox is now an essential tool that we use daily across several departments. Thanks to the comprehensive documentation and support provided by TWA, we feel confident in using and updating the system.

At present, we have not encountered any issues with Lockbox LIMS.

I use Lockbox LIMS for generating quotes, managing sample submission, workflow tracking, and invoicing. It consolidates older systems into one simple platform, reducing manual input and upgrade difficulties.

What I like best about Lockbox LIMS is its effortless end‑to‑end sample tracking. The interface is clean and highly configurable and automation rules reduce manual work and support compliance. Very important is the Team TWA: their responsiveness, deep product knowledge, and proactive problem‑solving made working with them smooth and kept our workflows running reliably and were key to the projects success . They’re collaborative, fast, and genuinely invested in helping us getting the best options possible.

Built on Salesforce: in certain system landscapes this can introduce constraints around integration architecture and the need for Salesforce‑specific admin/development skills.

Higher data quality and traceability via clear audit trails, role-based permissions, and standardized workflows.

Fewer manual entries and handoffs reduce errors, rework, and back-and-forth.

1. Runs on Salesforce.ccm which is a robust cloud platform with a high level of availability and security.

2. Workflows can usually be configured without requiring programming.

3. If needed it is possible to create custom objects, extensions, and integration to other systems.

4. User experience is very friendly.
