Easy program to understand
What do you like best about Legal Files?
The way the program changed the colors when the file moved to the next stage so that everyone can log in and tell what was going on.
What do you dislike about Legal Files?
The calendar was a bit funny to use but it gets better with more use.
Recommendations to others considering Legal Files?
This program I feel works best for larger law firms and personal injury law firms. The ease of usage of this program is ideal for monitoring PI cases.
What problems is Legal Files solving and how is that benefiting you?
If a legal assistant uses the program right anyone in the office can give a client an update without really knowing the case.

Positive Review for Legal Files
What do you like best about Legal Files?
Easy to organize and keep track of individual files. Loads of options for storing information. Great file management and document storage system. I love
What do you dislike about Legal Files?
Almost too many different ways to store information - and if there is a focus on data tracking can be very time consuming. Billing can be unreliable - for instance ,if you are simultaneously using the billing from LF and our separate billing software, the softwares will update at different times and can cause issues.
Recommendations to others considering Legal Files?
I would definitely recommend legal files. For my purposes the view detail function is a great way to be able to look back over the life of the case and see in a snapshot all activity that has been taken on the case. Saving and being able to have later access to emails also very useful. Advice - to really reap the benefits of legal files you have to put a decent amount of time into properly storing and categorizing all your documents etc.
What problems is Legal Files solving and how is that benefiting you?
One problem is with the to do's- I personally don't find them very useful and would like there to be a way to make them more useful and more like an actual to do list. Business problems being solved is a central way to store, search and input all relevant case information.

Fairly intuitive online legal software that (thankfully) made our paper files obsolete
What do you like best about Legal Files?
The ease of organizing documents, phone calls, and notes in Legal Files makes this an excellent case management program. It's also highly customizable so you can add different document types and case statuses unique to your organization. Being able to drag and drop documents into using a convenient desktop app is also nice. As a supervisor, it's easy to keep tabs on what the attorneys and advocates I supervise are doing by going into their files to see their most recent case updates through the chronologically organized "communications and activities" function.
What do you dislike about Legal Files?
It's not Mac compatible so I have to drag my work laptop home when it would be nice to connect to the remote server and use my home computer for quick projects. If you've got voluminous discovery in a case, it's not the best to use for discovery management-- for complex cases, we actually use a different program so that we can search/sort voluminous discovery easier.
Recommendations to others considering Legal Files?
Admittedly, I have no idea how much Legal Files costs since that is the purview of IT and our executive management; however, as a case handler and supervisor it makes managing my cases and supervising the case work of others incredibly easy. Even employees who or aren't particularly tech savvy have been able to pick it up after not too long. It could be more intuitive but it's certainly not hard to use so long as you have a minimum computer literacy.
What problems is Legal Files solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I first joined my nonprofit, we were using paper files. With the switch to a team management with remote supervision, Legal Files has both enabled us to get rid of tons of paper and switch to searchable online files. It's also excellent for remote supervision, now that essentially everyone is working from home-- a supervisor can open any file and see the case activity--which was also handy when an employee had a sudden medical emergency and was out of the office for ten days--it was easy to see what the next steps were in her files, any meetings, and what needed coverage without having to bother her.

Legal Files: A Management Tool for Legal Professionals
What do you like best about Legal Files?
The Microsoft integration is a key feature that I like best about Legal Files. It has a simple interface in Word that allows seamless integration.
What do you dislike about Legal Files?
There is nothing yet that I personally dislike about Legal Files from my experience thus far, however they could benefit from consolidating some of their products into one so it is a more all-in-one experience.
Recommendations to others considering Legal Files?
I would recommend Legal Files to others who want Microsoft integration and a full line of products for a very wide range of professionals. The list of customers using Legal Files is impressive, ranging from top engineering schools to Health and Medical providers. They seem to cover a range of necessities.
What problems is Legal Files solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized Legal Files to be a proper matter management system. The fact that it is also utilized by universities is a benefit.

Average Program
What do you like best about Legal Files?
It's a simple interface, so it's easy that way. Straightforward program.
What do you dislike about Legal Files?
It seemed very limited in what you were able to do. Couldn't attach files to the entries made. Reports that could be run were confusing to me.
Recommendations to others considering Legal Files?
Take a look at your specific needs. The office switched to a different program because Legal Files didn't meet our needs anymore.
What problems is Legal Files solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a running narrative of what is going on in the file, which is very helpful in establishing what needs to happen next.

Outdated System
What do you like best about Legal Files?
Legal Files effectively maintains all client information and once you've gotten the hang of it, is relatively easy to use.
What do you dislike about Legal Files?
Getting the hang of it can take a while. Legal files is frustratingly non-user friendly and can take a lot of time to figure out. Simply adding a note to a client's file requires you to open five separate windows. Also, the search feature only works for last names, not for any other criteria.
Recommendations to others considering Legal Files?
Take a day to figure out the ins and outs, as it the system is not intuitive.
What problems is Legal Files solving and how is that benefiting you?
Legal Files can organize your files and makes them easy to find. I'm not sure if there are other benefits that couldn't come with another, easier to use file system.
