We as solute GmbH are absolutely satisfied as a partner with Kumulos. The cooperation is absolutely without problems and always helpful. The tool itself is perfect with its extensive possibilities. The possibility to send both app, (in-app) and web push messages is often not given in other tools. Definitely recommended.

What problems is Kumulos solving and how is that benefiting you?

With the help of Kumulos, we were able to resolve many of our customers' difficult questions quickly and to their complete satisfaction.

The one-on-one support from the team is the biggest plus for me. I also appreciate the fact that the team took the time to truly understand our business and goals for our app, so that they could support us as best as possible, and even make suggestions for increased effectiveness.

What do you like best about Kumulos?

Kumulos offers a great feature set with a light touch integration. With very little development we were able to enhance our offering to our customers significantly.

I believe the reporting could be improved to be more "self serve".

"The easiest way to start engaging your mobile customers"
What do you like best about Kumulos?

We loved the simplicity of the tool and how easy it was to set up and use. It allowed us to instantly integrate with our mobile app without much development time. It is now a very important tool on engaging our mobile app users and gain valuable insights. The inbox function is a very good way for users to look back on messages, perfect when sending coupon codes or promotions. You can also automate the sending of push notifications depending on the user interaction with your app which even makes your engagement more timely and context-sensitive.

What do you dislike about Kumulos?

There is nothing to dislike, everything is all easy to understand and will instantly improve your mobile engagement without any fuss. Maybe if I were to suggest improvements, it would be to add more analytics data and the ability to target based on specific data points using a simple dashboard. The dashboard is already good but there is always room to improve. Another thing I would like to have is for in-app messaging, more customizable options for design. All small improvements really, we really love using this platform.

Recommendations to others considering Kumulos:

If you want to save major development time on your app for building engagement modules, Kumulos fits the bill and will give you all the tools you need with minor development on your mobile app.

What problems is Kumulos solving and how is that benefiting you?

We had problems sending push notifications with our internal system. By using kumulos, all the load on our server for sending push is offloaded to kumulos. This was the major hurdle we needed to tackle as we had to limit our push notifications due to server load. We long wanted to have an inbox as well. We were looking into doing additional development on our app just to be able to accommodate this feature. Kumulos already has a built-in inbox API which made this process so much faster and was able to bring it to market sooner. A lot of our development schedules were optimized and shortened because of all the ready-made features on Kumulos which allowed us to focus our app development on other functions that we needed and the app. We cut down about 6 months' worth of development and that was a huge bonus. Another benefit is being able to trigger notifications based on events on the app. It also allows us to closely monitor how many regular users we have and being able to do more engagement with them. There are still more features to explore and gain benefit from.

"Kumulos brings more benefits to our app than just notifications and in-app messaging."
What do you like best about Kumulos?

I love how you can target and schedule notifications and in-app messages to be as specific as you want. The intelligent delivery option is also beneficial, getting it to the recipient at the best time they'll engage with it. Geo taregetting your message is also useful. We can create campaigns based on where our members are. With a bit of creativity, we can drive them to our property with these messages.

I also have to mention that the team behind Kumulos is also fantastic. They have great support, are fast to answer your questions, and also listen to you. They take into account your input on the product. I've seen changes they done because of my team's feedback.

What do you dislike about Kumulos?

The thing that sticks out the most for me would be the user interface. While the design may be on the modern side, it isn't very intuitive. It takes a while to figure it out on your own, or you'll have to get a few pointers from the support team. Thankfully, that team is excellent.

There's also no way, at least not that I know of, to resend the same message without having to redo the whole setup. We send multiple tests out to different stakeholders before the final message. Though there's a button for test users, that only goes out to one team. If there are other stakeholders, we have to recreate the message.

There are other small things, like the rudimentary user role settings, strange per message analytics, etc.; but they really aren't deal breakers.

Recommendations to others considering Kumulos:

If you need to send in-app messages or notifications from your app, Kumulos will do that well and more. You will need to take the time to learn the ins and outs of the system as it isn't the most intuitive out there. Once you have the service running and you hit a roadblock or have an idea of how things could be better, don't hesitate to contact support. They're excellent and will get you what you need.

What problems is Kumulos solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of the biggest issues we've had for years was getting in touch with our members who have outdated or wrong contact information. Having Kumulos integrated with our app lets us contact our members despite this. As long as they have our app installed, we can engage with them. This has had a positive effect on our patronage.

Kumulos has also lowered our expenses. Using the system is cheaper than sending SMS every so often. We used to send out a lot of SMS. With Kumulos, we can send as many messages as we want and we're only charged based on their tiering system.

Another thing that Kumulos solves is seeing how many active users we have on our app at a particular time. It was the easiest way for us to get this data.

What do you like best about Kumulos?

Very helpful team; they get on calls if there are any issues with integration or support and make sure everything works great. The product itself is beneficial for us in sending immediate notifications to users.

What do you dislike about Kumulos?

There could have been a module that supports creating user journeys in the app.

What problems is Kumulos solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have had issues with integrating multiple APIs. Kumulos provides APIs which we were able to integrate within our app easily.

What do you like best about Kumulos?

The support mechanisms and customer service are top class. Being new to the world of push notifications, we were able to engage with different stakeholders within the business whom gave different views and thoughts on our strategy and process. This definitely builds trust in the brand, business and our contacts!

What do you dislike about Kumulos?

It's hard to put a dislike but there are always improvements that can be made. One of missing features we require is in the roadmap for early next year and this was communicated well and dealt with head on.

What problems is Kumulos solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a young business, our main focus on using the tool is to deliver an channel external to our product and grow the customer uptake and utilisation of the system. This has allowed us to develop the notifications required for our customers to engage quicker and get visibility of updates.

Kumulos has always been a fantastic and trustable partner since our first meeting. The team has always listened deeply our need and helped us with new releases to help us to meet our KPI.

What do you dislike about Kumulos?

Especially in the analytics section, some of the features still need a bit of development in order to make them competitive with the major competitors, but having seen the power of the Kumuos team, I'm sure it will arrive soon.

We have been able to use Kumulos to deploy our services (deep linking and push notification) not only in IOS and Android but also in Huawei. This integration has been super usefull.
