Kentik Detect Reviews

I like practically everything about Kentik, it's hard to choose just one feature to talk about.

But what draws the most attention is the speed of querying and reading the collected data.

The tool is very fast. I am impressed with the amount of query I do in a gigantic network (more than 1.6T of external links only) and the result is very fast. I've used several other tools and none perform as well as kentik

This greatly facilitates troubleshooting and traffic monitoring.

A point that I think is bad is not the tool itself, but more commercial / marketing.

Improve publicity in Latin America.

Kentik allows me to know in a few seconds what has changed on my network. I am connected to several PNI, IX and operators, so I need to make the experience as good as possible for my user and without kentik I wouldn't be able to do this.

The variety of different tests that have thus proved priceless. It has been able to help us identify issues before customers realize there are issues, and in many cases we have been able to remedy them before even getting the first call.

There have been a couple of bugs in alerting on some tests, but the engineering team has been great at identifying and remediating the problems very quickly....

We've really enjoyed the BGP path monitoring. It's priceless information to see how which subnets are being routed through which providers. It has also helped us identify that there were a couple of prefixes that weren't being advertised to certain providers.

Its amazing as it provide amazing results like syntactic data test,data explorer,cloud data overview. It provide all the paths where data passes and alert to customers as per their needs.

We can visuallise the data traffic flow wth the help of Kentik that allow us to get rid of troublessting.

Well I would say there is no dislike as such, Kentik is doing amaing we are using in our Company and very happy with it.

We are having SaaS setup and We need to find the network, latency, hit rate from customer to our setup. Kentik is just amazing which provide as a replication of the same thing and allow us to know that our system is working fine.

It can replace different platforms in a single solution that touches other areas of the company (operations, delivery, engineering and administration)

There is not many Cons to say. I would consider ways to store some data from strategic providers locally.

Kentik consolidates on a single platform different data sources and adds contextual labels for the data. This way it can be more comprehensive and accelerate the analysis.

Product is extremely easy to use, our technical teams use data explorer every single day.

Pricing can appear expensive, and licensing models don't easily align with our business.

Kentik solves many different problems for us, but the single most important place it helps is in identifying anycast traffic that's not reaching the most local edge PoP, and it helps us re-route this traffic to decrease latency.

Very simple and intuitive tool to use.

It brings very important results and visions to the day-to-day operations and makes it easier to understand the networks.

No cons within the platform, all features please me.

Kentik helps us keep the network secure, stable and gives us great visibility.

At OSNET we like to use Kentik because of the ease of the interface to represent data and make it useful when making decisions and evaluating problems in our network.

I would say that something that is perhaps not so intuitive is the creation of dashboards, I think that it is an area that can be improved to make the function a little more useful and dynamic.

Easy of use and the support provide by kentik. Kentik is continually improving the platform with new features and gui updates.

We have not found a downside it meets all our reuirements.

Network visibility, capacity and Alerting

Kentik query and live search is extremely fast, and it's capable on sending APIs/notifications out instantaneously.

Ever since implementing Kentik netflow, we have never had to manually move traffic to our scrubbing centers.

There's nothing that we dislike of Kentik. The team is fantastic, and if we have something that does not align with our environment, they always add a feature that gives us those options.

Prior to Kentik we would alert on high port usage. From there we would manually have to analyze that traffic if it's normal traffic increase or DDoS. This process could take at least half hour before we were able to execute on it. Kentik automate this process for us and traffic shifts within seconds of a DDoS attack but it leaves normal traffic alone.

I use Kentik every day to support my customers and to also deliver the best service possible. Kentik is an essential tool for network security and traffic flow and analysis.

There can be a learning curve in understanding the nesting of filters when trying to create a filter to address a detailed customer traffic flow. The filters are very powerful and helpful in detailed traffic analysis and are critical elements when analyzing high-volume flows.

Kentik helps me solve traffic flow and network traffic analysis problems. It is also very useful for monitoring the customer flows for changes in behavior and patterns that might otherwise be missed when using other analysis tools on the market.
