Inventor LT offers an easy-to-use set of tools for 3D mechanical design, documentation, and product simulation. Personally, the thing I really like is it is relatively easier to learn how to use the software as a new user. It took me 30 minutes to figure out 70% of the functions. And after reading some materials and guidelines online, I could say I know 90% of this software. Technically, it is a powerful software for designers. You can apply this software on various jobs as long as they require 3D approaches.
One of the cons is it takes a while to actually remember what all these functions are and how they work. Sometimes you know what you want in your mind, but somehow it takes a while to figure it out what function to use and where to find these function. But once you get familiar with the software, you won't have such problem.
Product Design; It saves me a lot of time and the effects and really good and amazing.
Although there is a slight learning curve, very easy to pick up on after a bit of usage. My company I am interning for uses this to design new parts, as well as create 3D assembly models. Would be nearly impossible to do our everyday job without Inventor
Although it is standard, the price is way too high for personal usage. I would like to be able to have Inventor on my computers at home, but at multiple thousands of dollars a licence that is impossible.
Would highly recommend. If you are a new user, there are plenty of tutorials you can work through online. It may seem difficult at first, but if you practice it is easy to pick up on.
We use Inventor to design parts for manufacturing and machining.
Since inventor is on the market, CAD work has been eased a lot. This user friendly software allows users to design and create 3D models without the need to be an expert or the need to receive an extensive training.
Great for parts and components, and not pricey.
SInce it is the lite version, it does not allow to correctly work with assemblies of parts. For that purpose, the pro version is needed.
This is definetely your sotfware for designing and creating items, pieces, tooling, fixtures and similar products on a 3D environment. Additionally, it supports the user when creating drawings from the 3d designs, meaning this that you could share easily drawings with third parties or suppliers.
Daily design of tools and fixtures with practically no training. The parametric features are great and allow me to create pretty complex items even I am not an expert user.
It's got nearly all the functionality that the full version does, short of doing assemblies. It's fairly straightforward to get into, and there are tons of tutorials and forums to learn from.
Being as though its so full featured, you can get a little lost in all of the options.
You will probably want to jump to the full version of Inventor at some point, but LT will give you a great introduction without breaking the bank, and certainly let you know whether it will be a good fit for your company or not.
We are doing more and more solid modeling to determine feasibility of production for rubber molded parts. With this software we can get fairly accurate weights to proceed with our estimates.
I like that the software can be used for both 2D and 3D drawings and models. The set up is user friendly and even if someone isn't used to the set up it has a small learning curve.
I don't have a package to run simulations and my company uses other software to run most of it's assemblies. I haven't used it much, but when I have I like it.
Inventor is easy to use and can be used in many different aspects. AutoCAD has a great reputation for their softwares, and this one is no different. It is professional, user friendly, and can be used for any sized drawing or model. I also have one of he slowest computers at my workplace, but Inventor never fails to load up fast and be ready for the work I can put it through. Other softwares have crashed with the amount and size of files I have to view, but not Inventor!
Inventor is easy to upload different file types and convert them and quickly edit a drawing or model, or even to view it quickly. At my job, I use it to open and view drawings, and some times models, as well as convert files when I open them so they are more accessible in the future.
I like the ease of use that Inventor provides. For that matter, I am a fan of all Autodesk products. I really like the powerful part level parametric drawing capability of Inventor the most. It is best for someone who is looking to learn the ropes in 3D designing and drafting.
I dont think it is the best fit for use in any large scale industry. It can be great for companies of smaller sizes and work forces but for the truly global ones, I am yet to be convinced that Inventor has the same strength and capabilities as SolidWorks or Pro-E
Its a really good software to start learning the ropes in Engineering design.
I used Inventor in college a lot for design classes and in digital prototyping. The software held up pretty well, even when drawing and working with really complex figures and drawings.
The ability to crate 3D parts and the cost per year,
Not able to make assembly's for more complex design.
Only .part files (.ipt) can be made. Assembly's files (.iam) can not be made in LT. Drawing files (.idw) can be made. Great to start with but if you need to make assembly's later on all the file you have made can be opened in normal Autodesk Inventor.
A great product to start off with for single part design.

It is not a difficult software to use. You can do simulations and export your file for a 3d printer! It’s a very good software. You can do 2D and 3D designs. You can creat realistic designs very easily.
It is a very heavy software, so your computer gets slow, and it doesn’t run on Mac.
And the full version is very expensive ! It takes a long time to install.
As a student I was able to use Inventor for free, and apply all the theory that I was learning into designs.
