Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Reviews

I like that Google Kubernetes Engine is easy to use and doesn't require a lot of heavy setup. Deploying and managing clusters feels smooth, and most of the complex work is handled in the background. It integrates well with other Google Cloud services, which saves a lot of time during implementation. The features are solid and reliable, and I use it frequently without running into major issues.

One thing I don't like about GKE is that the costs can add up quickly , especially when running larger clusters. Some of the advanced settings can also feel a bit complicated if you're not familiar with Kubernetes. At times, it takes a little digging through documentation to figure things out.

Google Kubernetes Engine helps me manage and run containers without worrying about all the manual setup and maintenance. It handles scaling, updates, and resource management automatically, which saves a lot of time and effort. It also make deployments more reliable and keeps services running smoothly.

I like GKE because it is very easy to deploy and manage the containerzied services. It spin up pods for the workloads whenever we update the code on github.

GKE handles scaling and reliability easily but it's not very simple for the new users.

For our team GKE solves the headache of managing the containerized workloads at scale. Before using GKE, we were manually deploying services on GCE and handling load balancing.It also made the CI/CD integration super easy. We just update the code and run the workflow on github.

I’ve been using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) regularly, and it’s been a really smooth experience. Setting up clusters and deploying containerized applications is straightforward, and the integration with other GCP services like Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, and Cloud Operations makes everything work seamlessly.

GKE takes care of scaling, upgrades, and node management, which saves a lot of operational effort. Features like Workload Identity and Autopilot mode make cluster management more secure and easier to handle. Performance has been solid, even for fairly large workloads.

Once basic knowledge you get the installation is easy. Connecting other services like cloud sql,big query etc ... are easy. I use regularly as my apps are deployed in it. Easy in oragnizing multiple apps which helps me control and track at single go. Customer support is already available in form of documents regarding error and community supports generally resolve the issue.

Needs training as its not biggner friendly completely. Sometimes cost can riseup and during upgrades i face little issues.

Managing and oraginizing multiple apps and scaling and doen't have memory issue. No security threats as it's managed by google itself.

GKE makes life easier by handling a ton of the heavy lifting (like auto-scaling and rolling updates) so I can focus more on building cool stuff instead of babysitting infrastructure.

GKE can get pricey fast, especially when you start layering on features like Autopilot or using lots of regional clusters.

GKE takes the chaos out of managing containers by automating deployment, scaling and operations, which means less time firefighting and more time building what matters to me.

It is one of the best tools on Google cloud. It is simple to implement and easy to use. It has some great features like in built security, container orchestration and complete management of Kubernetes. Google provides the best customer support. I have been using it frequently for the past 1 year.

It has been a great tool for me and right now I do not have any dislikes.

It saves me a lot of time by automatically deploying, scaling and managing the app containers. It has saved me a lot of money. It easily connects with other google cloud tools improving productivity. I do not have to worry about security at all.

One of the simplest and easy to setup/Implement cluster, Auto pilot feature and auto nodepool features are best I would say,And it also has Application CRD to group set of rescources into single applicaiton. Main thing is gcp suppoer is excellent I also get resolution in the chat and quick screen share. it has lots of integration support as well.

Not GKE issue, I faced issues in gcloud cli copmponent, however which is not relevevant

we have backend applicatio and batch/streaming processing which makes to deploy easily on cluster and apodt cloudnatinve technology

GKE Autopilot takes the hassle out of infrastructure management. You don’t have to worry about provisioning or scaling nodes

GKE little bit expensive than self-managed Kubernetes, especially when using regional clusters, premium networking, or multiple Google Cloud services

I have used multiple Google Cloud services, be it there Compute Engine, Firestore and the Kubernetes Engine. I really like how easy it is to spin up a machine and deploy your application and User Interface is quite simple and straightforward. I had also used other Cloud Platforms but what impressed me was the BigQuery and how it makes data analysis on massive data so fast and simple. I have used Firestore services like Storage and Realtime database for my app developments, and like how smoothly they integrate and interact.

I strongly believe that they should increase the time for the free tier, so that users get more time to look and try services and then lock them out. Some services also lack the level of regional availability compared to competitors like AWS.

We develop apps and software for our clients and Google Cloud Services have rightly benefitted our projects in terms of storage, compute and API services. I had recently integrated the Geolocation API service into one of my apps in just one day.
