What do you like best about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

I have been using Dragon for the past two years. It has helped me to become more productive at work. With the Dragon software, I transcribe more audio hours per week compared to typing on a qwerty keyboard.

What do you dislike about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

As someone with a Caribbean accent, I had to train the Dragon software to recognise my pronunciation of many words. Training the software took a little time; however, it was worth it. Dragon now recognises my pronunciation perfectly, and this has resulted in greater accuracy.

What problems is Dragon Speech Recognition Software solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a voice writer, I use Dragon Naturally Speaking together with another program daily. I transcribe all court records using this software and my work has become quick and easy.

It helps me finish notes faster and allows me to use less abbreviations.

What do you like best about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

It helps with making notes more complete and improves efficiency. Without Dragon I would be typing up notes way longer and probably get a work-hour violation without it. It is truly a game-changer.

What do you dislike about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

I don't like that it doesn't recognize certain words and doesn't you to spell out names or words when it is unable to recognize the word. I also wish we were given the handheld dragon speakers for home too.

What problems is Dragon Speech Recognition Software solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is solving the problem of doctors using too many abbreviations that can be confusing for other teams and doctor, like myself, but most importantly it can be confusing for the patient. Dragon solves this and improves efficiency.

It is too expensive. There is little or no support. Dragon 13, did not work and I could not get any support

Save time and effort with speech recognition software

What do you like best about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

I am a slow typist, and this software is really fast. I can dictate into emails, I am dictating into this program right now, I do all my letters (and I do a lot of them) and it saves me time and money.

What do you dislike about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

Not much. It sometimes makes mistakes, and there are some mistakes that it repeats, and I find this annoying. Thankfully they are not common.

What problems is Dragon Speech Recognition Software solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has saved me well over $1 million over the last 20 years, in secretarial wages. It enables me to do letters in real-time on the spot, and therefore is incredibly efficient.

What do you like best about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

The simplicity and intuitive aspect of Dragon Speech Recognition Software. It is very easy to learn. For a period of time, I didn't need to use the software and when I started using it again, it was like "riding a bike" i.e., you don't forget!

What do you dislike about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

Not really a "dislike" but rather, Google now offers "Google Voice" which essentially does what Dragon Speech Recognition Software does. However, I've found that Google Voice does not have as many voice commands as Dragon and it is less reliable than Dragon. So I would say - given Google Voice is free - the downside of Dragon is that you have to pay for it.

Recommendations to others considering Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

You can try Google Voice and Dragon. Yes, Dragon costs more but it may be worth it to you!

What problems is Dragon Speech Recognition Software solving and how is that benefiting you?

I can dictate what I would like typed. I don't need to hand type in the text.

15 years and still going strong.

What do you like best about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

I could not live my professional life without Dragon Dictate. I use it every day. In every way. The fact that I've used every version since about version 3.0 tells you something. I love how I can be creative, and correct things with my voice only. When I first started I used to make an outline of a notepad and then dictate to it. Now I often use the DragonPad for the First Draft then I transpose it into the app or software that I'm using. That way I get to review what I write, and make sense.

Great medical speech recognition

What do you like best about Dragon Speech Recognition Software?

With Dragon, you are able to use voice commands to insert templates into documentation. This is great for EMRs where you do not have access to phrases with keystrokes.

Dragon is hard to train at times and I have had problems in the past getting Dragon to learn from my speech pattern

This softwares inbuild increased adaptations works excellently, It will run in the background and be rapidly available which is really good for me. My working speed is vastly improved and transcribing time is halved.

Becoming accustomed to the method of speaking is difficult, but the software supports this with read tutorials and frequent reminders of potential alternatives when the keyboard id used.

everyone can benefit from this software however it will particularly support those in heavy admin roles or in need of assistive technology
