A lot of our employees work remotely so it is really important that everyone is able to have easy access to all of our documents. That is one of the many reason I like working with DL because it is so easy user friendly and it helps keep everything so streamlined.
The only thing that I don't really like is the search function. I feel like it is hard to use, but it may just be user error on my end.
We have thousands of documents that we work with daily and DL allows us to keep the forms up to date easily and organized so anyone in the company can get to documents. DL also allows us to set permissions so that owners have access to confidential information and the other users don't even know those folders exist.
We liked the Document Locator because it is designed for 10 or more users; it is an excellent Windows-based document management software. Document Locator combines ease of use and great features. Fully integrated into Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook and other business applications. Document Locator is convenient for personnel registration, accounting, projects, contracts. Document Locator helped us safely manage files and automate our company's business processes. Mobile access helped a lot, it can be used even when you are not in the workplace.
There are no disadvantages for our company. Document Locator is an excellent software for document management, accounting and their automation.

The ease of use. We had a demonstration of the product this week, and we have decided to purchase the product and implement it for our records management. It will be a long slow process for implementation, but once it is up and running our records management will be improved 100%

User security issues and document processing.
The searching capabilities of the product make life a lot easier. Things like the invoice number, PO number, or any similar identifier are part of what you can use to find what I'm trying to locate.
We currently only use this product in a limited capacity. My complaint would be more related to how my organization doesn't use it more efficiently.
We do not have to go looking for paper. This fundamental point has been well worth the investment.
I like the organizational set up of Document Locator. The folder system and the options the system provides make setting up a fully functioning document library easy.
I would prefer more security options around downloading and printing documents housed in Document Locator to prevent version control issues.
Document Locator has allowed our business to safely store all of our documentation for multiple departments in one easily accessible place that all our users.
I enjoyed using Document Locator as a research tool for BOMs and line drawings. The interface is very easy and straightforward. Anyone with a basic understanding of search functions can use it. Recall of images is quick and the clarity is not lost with uploading/scanning multiple images.
Sometimes it is slow to load what I need, especially if a lot of users are on or if my search is too broad.

Ease of use, Familiar interface, and fantastic support. We've cut our document processing time by almost 50% while increasing document security, auditability and tractability.
At times the system can be a bit slow when chugging through a workflow. We manage this by executing multiple workflows at once.

Control and Transmittal of Engineering Documents, CAD files and Vendor Documents. Increased productivity which allows us to win bids by lowering our cost of service.
Ability to search not only in file names, but within the files. Ability to tag, categorize and standardize the document structure. Potential to use as a reporting tool, but unlikely due to not reliable data.
Did I mention slow? Opening files, working on files, the whole process of checking files in/out, everything is slow and frustrating, especially when you have to meet the deadline and need to make multiple small, last minute adjustments. Much easier to set a standard file handling procedure using standard windows/cloud based storage and train staff to follow the process.
Organizing internal files. Still find that simple explorer is better, if people keep their files organized and have some simple tracking tools.
