"Fantastic UI Experience and great inbuilt AI tool to write SQL"

What do you like best about DataGrip?

- The UI is absolutely easy to use and navigate

- It segments different queries into blocks in the same file to be run individually

- The AI tool has great auto-complete feature makes it really easy to write SQL

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

There is not much to dislike about DataGrip. One suggestion however, would be to make editor settings easily accessible to modify for the users. RIght now it is a bit difficult to find even the editor settings to make trivial changes

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

DataGrip has made writing and executing SQL commands extremely easy for me. The AI tool makes life easier by auto-completing queries and the floating result window is just perfect to see the results simultaneously on a second screen while writing queries in the primary screen.

"Trades Depth of Features for Usability"

What do you like best about DataGrip?

I really enjoy the ease of using datagrip. I've found that it's ability to distinguish queries and present a clean interface are unbeat. I like to think of datagrip like Apple versus Samsung, with Apple presenting the cleaner, simpler product (Datagrip) versus Samsungs complex and powerful options, but ultimately confusing for the average user (competitors).

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

I've found that datagrip lacks behind other competitors only in the speed they release new updates. For example, dBeaver offers rapid updates including things like AI modeling that are only half built out. On the other hand, Datagrip makes sure that everything is fully baked and tested before release, making for a easier and cleaner user experience.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

SQL querying and analysis is the main solution DataGrip offers us. We use Datagrip to do a good portion of our marketing analysis and data engineering validation, alongside tableau and excel.

It is pretty heavy. When was using it on my Mac was OK, but when I tried it on a windows computer with lower performance wasn't that good.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me to connect and work with databases on every school software project.

"makes navigating and searching databases much easier than other tools I've used"

What do you like best about DataGrip?

ease of visualizing and searching databases

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

Discovering functionality involves some work (like other JetBrains products: a lot going on and can take a bit to navigate the product itself)

Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:

Absolutely worth it for navigating and doing work in a DB.

However, if you want something for a group to just run pre-existing commands or do very simple searches then a simpler product will prove easier to use and onboard with.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

Navigating and interfacing with a large SQL databse, securely

"Its the fastest client for sql if your computer can handle it"

What do you like best about DataGrip?

Completes your queries, shortcuts to navigate through tables are just amazing, Easy access to all your sql files/scripts. Sorting tables and crud operations are just clicks away, you dont even need to write queries, you can simply change them through UI and it automatically writes and runs the queries in the background. It also shows you what queries it is writing to execute your action.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

Takes a lot of resources, ram consumption is just too much. Also when bulk deletion, it runs 1 query per row that gets deleted, so overall it runs 1000 queries to delete 1000 rows. Instead of running 1000 different queries, this task could have been completed in a single query. Running it 1000 times takes up too much resources and time.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

while writing a query, it shows all the syntax-related errors that may arise. So I use it as a query checking tool, beyond that its my daily data monitoring tool as navigating through tables is butter smooth.

"Simplified and great UI design"

What do you like best about DataGrip?

It is so easy to connect to different data sources using data grip. The layout of console, result window, etc. are neatly arranged compared to other products on the market.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

It takes some time to get used to all functionalities available. A help guide icon for every functionality would come handy for the user.

Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:

It might take sometime to get used to but it gets easier as you keep using it. The pros outweigh the cons.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use DataGrip for many things like Data mining, Data manipulation, querying, etc. It is very easy to load data from csv, txt files to database using DataGrip.

"DataGrip is a smart, user-friendly SQL database program"

What do you like best about DataGrip?

I really appreciate that DataGrip will give suggestions when I am constructing a query. I don't use it that often, so it is nice that I don't have to have the exact syntax memorized each time I want to make a call. DataGrip offers suggestions of what I am trying to do. It will let me know if there are issues before I run it.

What do you dislike about DataGrip?

There isn't anything specific that I dislike about the program. I don't use it often enough to have really mastered it. It is sometimes rather complicated, but that is to be expected with making database queries.

Recommendations to others considering DataGrip:

I think you will get the most out of DataGrip if you have someone else to walk you through your first experience with it.

What problems is DataGrip solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use DataGrip to analyze our company databases to better understand our customers and how they are using our software. Datagrip allows me to cross-reference data across multiple sources to get a complete picture.
