Before choosing Critical Mention, I researched several industry-leading tools. Critical Mention had the best features, the most inclusive list of media monitoring channels, and the ability to find and update contact information for journalists and reporters, as well as send out press releases and other important public communications. The cherry on top is the interactive reports. These reports allow us to easily monitor the reach, sentiment, and impact of our communications efforts.

I wish that the search function were easier to use. Trying to determine if I'm using the best search criteria can be a little challenging.

It's allowing us to quickly and easily monitor our media mentions, reach our target media representatives, and measure the impact of our efforts.

What I like best about CM are the analytics and reports that allow me to offer better informed counsel to those I support in their public relations efforts. It's also a great reporting mechanism for grants and accountability to stakeholders.

I'd like to see to media mentions to go back further than two years.

There is not much to dislike. It has all the features i'm looking for.

Critical Mention is the perfect solution for my media monitoring and reporting needs. I can easily download clips and share them in real-time. I use the reporting tools often to create professional documents showing the value of earned media for clients, sponsors, and partners.

I need to pull and share clips sometimes minutes after they air. Critical Mention makes is so easy.

The entire platform is user friendly and provides all of the tools needed to conduct media relations. Your account rep is fantastic, unlike competitors' products where you don't even know how to quickly get in touch with them.

For social listening, I wish it had BlueSky and LinkedIn.

Finding the right reporters and monitoring all coverage.

I really enjoy the email notification from the website. It helps us to archive news stories related to our organization.

Sometimes the notifications provide us with information that we are unable to document.

It allows us a way to capture news stories involving our department in a way that is efficient where we do not have to worry about recordings on our own.

I like how easy it is to monitor mentions of my company, and I feel like it captures everything. This is mostly helpful for broadcast and radio. I like that how the reports are customizable.

It's not the most user-friendly interface and the editing tool for broadcast clips can be a bit of a pain to use.

It's the best way to monitor broadcast coverage and download clips from TV stations.

The fact that Critical Mention dashboard is so user friendly and easy to navigate and that each account has a representative to assist with day-to-day requirements and support in times of upheaval.

There are two issues that can use improvement. The first is the after-hours service, which can sometimes be difficult to get an immediate reaction to and/or from. The best way to contact the after-hours service is to call them. This can be time-consuming. Improvement is needed to responsiveness by email or online message service. The second issue is still having to vet through clippings and 'mentions'.

If you're looking for a social listening and media monitoring tool, Critical Mention is among the best available globally. Account managers are friendly and the service overhead costs are well worth the investment. I have been using Critical Mention across multiple organizations and on behalf of multiple clients and always found their services and tools superior.

We are closely monitoring social listening and engagement on behalf of our client and finding strategies to address the greatest concerns and inform future campaigns. We also monitor earned media advertising to identify where we can make the most of marketing and advertising dollars.

Could use more graphics in custom reports if allowed

Helping keep track of media mentions, sentiment, ad equivalency value, etc.

Alerts received whenever and wherever the organization or members of it are mentioned anywhere.

Only downside would be not being able to clip right from the alert.

No longer do I need to search for where and when the organization or its leaders are mentioned in mainstream media or social media.

The ability to track my client's press coverage is a quick, streamlined manner.

There are some outlets the platform is unable to find or track in certain verticals.

I spend less time tracking media coverage and creating reports to show impact.
