I like the reporting options with 3 different scenarios the most.

The initial price, which included the initial setup costs planned for 8 hours, seemed a bit high to me.

I was building the budget in Excell and I had to fill in each amount in the budget fields, which was very frustrating, time-consuming and with the risk of errors in the budget. In Budgyt, I got rid of this chore because I bring my amounts through imports from all the sources used for collecting information and I can focus more on analysis now.

Very competitive price, which is important for a small- to mid-sized non-profit. Setup is easy, interface is intuitive. Can do easy reviews of multiple budgets (year over year, mid-year forecast, actual to budget). Very responsive support.

The visualizations add on was less integrated than other functions.

Allowed us to move from a link-intensive spreadsheet environment to a cloud-based environment, with user security at a departmental level. Allows multiple directors to input and view their own budgets, while Finance can do instant consolidation, rather than gather and aggregate 20+ departmental spreadsheets.

Being able to clone the prior year budget saves me so much time when starting a new year's budget. It is so easy to make changes and compare the previous year's budget to the current year. I love being able to add notes while working on the current year in order to quickly answer questions that may arise from our board members.

I do not have any dislikes as I have been using the software for almost 4 years!

Budgyt is a huge time saver for me as it has simplified the budget process. Using an excel spreadsheet for 200 line items was very time consuming.

It is very user friendly platform, so other departments can assist in building out their budgets without needing finance team. Also support is very timely and helpful

The Budgyt platform has made my budgeting process so much easier. Being able to move away from using multiple, linked Excel spreadsheets has been great. The version control is great. Being able to create and present several different models is great. The employee module and the formulas modules are excellent. The customer service is also exceptional.

There is nothing about the Budgyt platform that I dislike.

Budgyt has allowed me to move away from using Excel spreadsheets to budget.

I like Budgyt's interface and its ability to easily and dynamically compare periods.

I want more of this type of thinking. Although forecasting is possible I want it just a little easier.

Budgeting and reporting in the

Love the Budgyt platform! Very intuitive and easy to use, with capabilities that allow users to get more detailed and complicated as needed. Allows us to enter data in detail (or summary) in a way that makes it incredibly accessible and easy to read for non-finance users, which is ultimately a huge time saver for our finance team. Everyone on the Budgyt team that I have spoken to or worked with from sales to support (including the CEO & founder who took one of my training/implementation calls) has been awesome. The training was great (the video academy might be my single favorite & most-used/recommended training feature in any program ever), onboarding and implementation were made super easy (as far as those things go), and ongoing support (on the rare occasions it's been needed; it's been mostly out-of-the-box questions/ideas that I've brought up post-go-live) is excellent & very personable - huge shout-out to "budgyt guru" Aileen who has been immensely helpful from day 0 to the present, anticipating our needs at times before we even did.

My only 'complaint' is that, while several additional features that have been implemented since we began using Budgyt (dashboards, cash flow, balance sheet) I am still anxiously awaiting the #1 item on my wishlist - live integration with Sage Intacct API to eliminate manual import of actual data. But I'm confident that when it arrives it will work correctly.

Limited/non-user-friendly access to financal data & clear, legible reports are now easily distributed/accessible to our non-finance team members, saving time for both finance & non-finance staff, and eliminating questions arising from lack of clarity/version control in distribution of financial info. The easy-to-use & understand format of Budgyt helps keep things consistent. And most notably, the processes of budgetting and forecasting have been completely revamped to work with the Budgyt platform (from old manual, Excel-based processes).

Where do I start? Budgeting is the most important part of the accounting cycle, in my mind. If there is not an understanding of how funds come in and go out (and a plan for tracking/managing those funds), how can an organization measure their performance and determine where they are going? Budgyt is a powerful tool that can help your organization with financial management.

The implementation team is knowledgeable and helps you get off the ground. The support team is there for follow up questions. The features in Budgyt are easy to learn/use and can be customized to fit your organization's needs. The employee module and related HR formulas are great tools to help budget and forecast personnel costs. Speaking of forecasting, that is another one of my favorite features. Through creation of different scenarios, it's easy to view data under multiple assumptions. Budget does not break like an Excel workbook can break, and does not require extensive knowledge of advanced Excel functions in order to perform budgeting and forecasting tasks. I have the fortunate opportunity to work with Budgyt on an almost-daily basis and it's one of the reasons I love my job! We work exclusively with nonprofits and it's an affordable, feature-packed tool that helps our clients budget in a collaborative and transparent manner, with the end goal of Budgyt providing timely, accurate and useful information that helps drive decision-making.

Honestly, I can't point to anything specific that I dislike about Budgyt. I haven't come across a situation that isn't "workable" within Budgyt.

There are many ways that Budgyt helps solve problems. Here are two examples that come to mind.

It is great for annual fixed budgets and getting participation from other managers for their areas. Can restrict to just department or accounts that they they manage. Each month I create a forecast, containing combinations of imported actuals with future months as budget. The future months then edited to what managers think will happen, to create a forecast. Can have monthly to prior year and fixed budget while in an account Data Sheet, so can easily see how your forecast compares. Simple to close a forecast to create a new one. And lock prior months as necessary. Bonus is the search field. I can look for something in Actuals scenario, that is easy to find than in our accounting software. Also can run better reports on Actuals, than our accounting software. Support is great, direct help form James the founder himself. Implementation was pretty easy, considering we have 2 companies, multiple departments and require consolidation. We use Budgyt monthly. Very easy to import and export data to our accounting software.

Can't think of anything! Maybe just when I clone a scenario and deactivate the prior months formulas, I can't edit even the future months HR formula because there are annual limits that are used. My original estimate was a guess, and now I know what % or annual limits on certain payroll taxes are, but cannot change. James did suggest a workaround though. After a few months, tried to add Balance Sheet module , but turned out to be too complicated for us, and not worth the effort to maintain. Our money was refunded except for reasonable amount for implementation. James and team did spend a lot of time on it, so was fair.

No more massive spreadsheet with formulas that I couldn't trust other managers to use the file. Had to copy their input into my master file. Monthly forecasts were near impossible before. Better accuracy on payroll budgeting.

How dynamic it is. It has a lot of features that accountants will find helpful. The creator/owner is extremely knowlegeable and was always available to help when we had problems. The Budgyt team was dedicated to helping us get our budget off the ground and running, helping us implement many things they built just for us.

Some of the import features are not as user friendly.

Budgyt offers us the ability to more accurately forecast future years.
