I really like that BarTender lets us print pretty much anything instantly in black and white, which is great for our needs. We use it a lot for creating thermal transfer labels, especially when we're doing product markings, box labels, and UPC and date code labels. Another thing I find valuable is its capability to do private label mockups for customers or print out limited edition SKU identifiers. It's super handy because we often do private label items for customers. In cases where customers don’t supply their own labels, we can easily create simple black and white ones in-house. Plus, before going for full-color printing, we can check out a black and white concept first, thanks to BarTender. The setup was extremely easy—just install, connect the printer, and we were good to go. Overall, the software is extremely robust, and I haven’t encountered issues other than the photo attachment aspect.

Attaching photos to a label can be a bit blurry. Re-creating a label without a digital file by scanning and importing it as a picture works okay, but it would be nice to have some AI tool that can read and transcribe the text from the photo.

BarTender allows us to print ad hoc labels for packaging, especially for foodservice items. It lets us quickly create black and white mockups and private labels for customers, offering flexibility and instant printing capabilities.

I find BarTender incredibly useful for printing labels for the medical devices we manufacture. It provides me with the appropriate tools to handle regulatory requirements both for the EC and US market in a high-quality and user-friendly environment. I particularly appreciate its high-quality machine interface, which simplifies usage, and its versatile functions that offer a wide range of possibilities. The ability to devise labels quickly and achieve high quality in a fraction of the time, thanks to its graphical human interface, is a big plus. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, almost click-and-play.

I Believe the only feature which bothers me from time to time is the situation in which printer usage in erroneous manner disrupts the ongoing work flow .

Label Template design is so much easier and quicker through BarTender than other programmes used previously. The best thing is not needing to re-create a new label template each time a new SKU is introduced, as the integration with SAP automates the design process, standardizing design across multiple products and production lines.

The integration and conditional logic can be confusing to utilize but, that said, there are several ways to produce the desired end result.

The most frustrating aspect encountered so far was embedding UDI requirements in a data matrix barcode; this took some time to get to the desired layout and GTIN to print, but eventually figured it out.

BarTender was implemented to automate label design and reduce the potential for printing errors. Since implementation, printing label samples for newly introduced SKUs has become almost instant. Sending labels for printing on the production lines has also reduced operator input to a single order entry; from there, one click can send different label templates to multiple printers at the same time. BarTender has also made it possible to implement additional controls, which helps further reduce errors.

It's ability to handle complex situations. It has diverse and robust options. We use it every day, day after day. We almost never have a problem once a solution is implemented. Whenever we do need help, which is extremely rare, support has been very helpful.

There is a slight learning curve to get started with automation.

We are able to automate case labeling in production. No longer need to manually build labels to print out. All the data comes from the data in our MES and we can output the labels in whatever format or functionality the customer requires.

I like the ease of use and the wide variety of label types, barcode types and personalization options.

The only thing I dislike about Bartender is the price. I use Bartender for work. If my employer didn't purchase it, I couldn't afford to purchase it. If there was a more affordable personal version of the software, I would also use it for my home art business.

Bartender has made it easier to print all the information I need on one label instead of having to use multiple software's to include QR codes, barcodes and serialization of products.

The fact that it is being improved all the time and we still have the ability to upgrade from version 10.1.4.

Nothing. Everything I have used and every person I have worked with at BarTender has been up to par.

They make it easy to integrate with other packages, all we have to do is send the server name of the BarTender instance we will be accessing, the .btw file we want to use, the printer we want to print to, the number of copies we want to print, and the data that will be used to print the label.

I appreciate BarTender for its wide range of encoding options, which is a real asset in various industries. The RFID coding feature is impressive, and I love the ability to print directly from spreadsheets, which minimizes numerical errors. The design tool for creating professional barcode labels is amazing, allowing me to design both simple and complex labels with ease. Printing and customizing labels is so convenient. The intuitive setup makes it easy to get started, and the integration generator is a powerful way to automate many processes.

We have never encountered any problems with the Bartender labeling software so far.

BarTender offers a range of encoding options, simplifies RFID coding, prevents numerical errors when printing from spreadsheets, and features a strong design tool for creating diverse labels. It's intuitive and facilitates automation, making it a versatile and valuable asset.

BarTender software is easy to install and to use, it has a a lot of options, and an exceptional customer support. I've been assisted by Ian Cummings and Navid Kalantari; both have been extremely helpful, patient, and kind. Thank you.

So far (6 months daily using it) there is nothing to dislike.

Before investing in purchasing BarTender software, we tried at least 3 more software, and BarTender was definitely the best, easiest, and with the best support to assist us in creating labels GS1DataMatrix and GS1 128.
