Review Summary

Azure Monitor is a powerful tool for monitoring Azure resources, offering real-time visibility and insights into performance, availability, and security. Users praise its ability to centralize logs, provide detailed metrics, and integrate seamlessly with other Azure services. However, some users report challenges with complexity, specifically for those less familiar with Azure, and highlight the need for more robust non-Azure resource monitoring support. The UI can be complex despite its user-friendly nature, and cost considerations can be a factor, particularly for high-volume logging needs.

Pros

  • Provides realtime monitoring and detailed logs for diverse Azure resources.
  • Seamlessly integrates with multiple Azure services, enhancing overall management.
  • Offers dedicated dashboards for comprehensive data visualization and analysis.

Cons

  • Requires Azure expertise for effective utilization and complex configuration.
  • Limited support for nonAzure resources, requiring additional integration efforts.
  • Advanced customization options may be challenging for novice users.

With Azure Monitor we track our data without wasting time.
What do you like best about Azure Monitor?
It has the ability to export weekly and monthly reports in custom formats and thus have the facility to present clear and understandable information to my colleagues. It offers great metrics and log analysis to drill down into the data and extract valuable information; and setting up alerts in Azure Monitor for any metric I deem critical is easy.
What do you dislike about Azure Monitor?
Its level of customization is good but the interface can be overwhelming due to the number of options available; some of these could be merged into a single board to improve usability.
What problems is Azure Monitor solving and how is that benefiting you?
The alerts function and data logging, combined with the real–time analysis of operations helps us to prevent failures in important processes, optimizing our risk management. Azure Monitor is undoubtedly perfect for its ability to transform data management and its effectiveness in identifying and mitigating risks.
