Assembla allows our team to organize and execute with full visibility of what everyone is doing. Collaboration is certainly its core feature. We've tried other solutions, but its features stand out.
The user signup has been difficult at times. Sometimes the invites are not received, and resending them is difficult. This is something I would urge them to look into.
We are managing a high complexity development operation, and Assembla allows us to organize, execute and meet our client's needs at all times. Integrating code repositories along with tasks into a single tool is an asset.
PROS: I like the fact that you can use Assembla as a free tool for cloud-hosted source control. You can have as many users as you need connected to the same server. As a paid member, I can access excellent project management tools. Both managers and developers can easily use the software as it is not complex. Reporting is also very easy. Every user is able to see what everyone else is working on. Being a cloud based tool, I can connect to it wherever I am.
CONS: There is a bizarre disadvantage of using Assembla. There are fewer options available on space and users for paying members. Non-paying members have no limit on space or the number of users, yet paying members have limits according to the amount of money they pay. Users are forced to have both versions to be able to fully enjoy using the software.
I am using assembla from 3 years it is very helpful in assigning tickets
Assembla should maintain user history when even i open assembla on next day it will redirect me to the main screen and i have to find my tickets again
Assembla helping me in reporting i don't need to make a report for reporting bug i can attach screenshot and mention to related person
Assembla helps keep projects and due dates organized.
Nothing that I dislike. I think it's a great project management tool.
I use it to keep track of work and due dates. It's great for keeping projects organized.
Tasks are easy to create and assign. Time is easy to track. Assembla is a less frustrating tool to work with compared to similar products. I've recommended Assembla for small teams of 2 people, to larger teams upward of 20. I'm sure it scales well for even bigger teams.
There are many tools that connect well together, like referencing tickets in your messages. It makes it easy to organize the entire space.
The cost is approaching the same as other products where it used to be free for small groups. It's still a good option for small teams, but may require a monthly subscription as the team grows.
Task tracking is best across multiple disciplines. In a team space that incorporates programmers, artists, designers, and producers, it's easy to separate out tasks and plan for sprints.
I’ve been using Assembla for my master thesis. Free of charge and free from any headaches ;)
Nothings, it fits my simple code versioning needs
Code versioning
The ticket reports for specific Milestones of a project are great for communicating to customers where you are on a project. I also love that I can customize the ticket reports any way needed for the best communication to each individual customer.
When I have developers working on multiple projects at the same time, it is sometimes difficult to get a feel for exactly what they are working on each week cross-projects.
When we have a customer who feel like they are in the dark with regards to status of their project, Assembla reports are the best way to communicate that each week.
You can track the whole history of an issue
It is not always possible to search ticket number.
Take under control the project evolution with specific information about the progressive effort of an activity for each area. Assembla allows to relate children ticket to father one and this really helps.
I like that it's very intuitive to use all the sections, you don't need hours of learning curves for getting into using it
Don't have any dislikes yet
It would be great if you develop a time tracking windows client
Tickets, and time logging
