I love that the user interface is very much Mac oriented and the performance is great, compared to Excel which is quite clunky on the Mac. I love that there are less features so the app is actually more focused.
Excel is the industry standard, so when working with people outside our organization, there is always a compatibility issue of matching the file formats produced in Numbers with those from Excel.
I use it to analyze large data sets and also to manage our finances and other key metrics within our organization. I'm much more productive to the intuitive user interface and fast performance.

This is a free software that competes very well with Microsoft Excel. It works just the same and you can always export and open excel documents.
I guess the lest helpful thing is the templates are dated, but that's not the end of the world.
