Business problems related with my current work tenure where I am working

With Alooma, we can go back to focusing on the business and not on building and maintaining a data pipeline at enterprise level

Costing needs to be relooked along with more POC demo's

It solved our enterprise pipeline, instead of create individual level now at the enterprise level it has help to create the consistency and quality

Since implementing Altoona, we’ve had great uptime and data quality, and the service has replaced the need for a full time data engineer to run our day to Day ETL needs

it hardly takes a minute to build the data pipeline with this, not only that it allows us to import data from any source and that's awesome now every pipeline tool is worth it

does not natively support all types of data sources however many popular ones are supported and it offers robust insights into the pipeline so-called transparent.

pipelining of the data sources like databases in realtime...as it is highly available and fault tolerance we can rely on its architecture...sense of trust is built with this

It is one of the simple ways to integrate various systems. We used this mainly because it had salesforce integration to Snowflake. Another feature which was important to us was CDC which allowed us to replicate Postgresql to snowflake.

After Google bought over Alooma they stopped allowing integration with AWS data integration and that was not an option for us. Now they support only GCP migration integrations only. It was sad to see such a good tool go away and become GCP specific tool.

Its a decent tool and I would recommend this if it is meeting your requirements. After Google took over Alooma there are many restrictions how the tool can be used so it is important to understand whether tool meets your needs or no.

We needed to move data from nearly 10-12 sources into Snowflake data warehouse. This would allow us to perform various analytical reports on top of the data that was collected into Snowflake.

Ease of use and intuitive interface. For any level users, they'll find this a breeze.

Not much that I dislike about it. Possibly they can improve on support by being more efficient in response

Some of the inputs that are key to our internal tool stack are not very mature. I’ve had to work with support a lot. Good news is their support is very responsive.

Centralization of data. We were able to get all of our data centralized within a month.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I think there is some work to be done with this product but I do like the overall idea.

Not well explained documentation. This product can be better.

Connecting multiple data sets to destinations. There are some problems with configuration and/or compatibility.

Alooma is all about bringing your data into view. With data spread across the various tools that do best in their specific domain Alooma takes the "10%" left and makes everything available under one roof.

When running all your data through an external solution there is a certain amount of "ownership" loss. Yes, it's out data still but we now need alooma to run the business processes enabled by aggregating that data.

There are many business problems we are trying to solve by being able to look across our data. Most are small but impactful as we discover how different pieces of the business are influencing others.
