For it's ease of use, if you already know how the windows desktop works, you'll understand how XFCE works, it's just more lightweight than windows therefore it acts quickly and smoothly

This is the best lightweight BE. It's perfect for an old PC and has smaller specifications. We can use this for daily use. It also does not have many bugs which is really awesome.

I don't have anything wrong with this. I think it's already awesome and we can use it daily. I think it will be good to modernize this DE a little bit but still have lightweight characteristics.

They give us a solution to use lightweight DE for old computers. We can use it like the new computer and have a good enough interface. I never meet any problems when using it.

What I like most about this operating system is that I can use it with very low-resource equipment. In my case, I am using it on a dual-core machine with 1GB of memory, and I have no problems with its performance.

What I really don't like is that sometimes the browser gets stuck due to resource consumption with the processor. This is no longer an issue with the operating system, but rather with the application itself.

This system is ideal for those devices that are unused and for which you want to give another opportunity to perform other types of tasks, such as a multimedia station or for file sharing, among others.

I've been using Linux for well over five years and have used a variety of desktop environments to date. Most of them bog down my system and ruin the computing experience. However, when I tried XFCE, it's fast, responsive, and provides a snappier desktop experience.

Comparing it to other desktop environments, the animations and visuals of XFCE aren't up to the mark. But given the minimum system resources needed to run XFCE, I think that's a trade you should be ready for.

I honestly recommend anyone with a low spec device running Linux to try the XFCE desktop. It's no doubt one of the best lightweight desktop environments you'll definitely not regret installing it.

XFCE installed on top of any Linux distro can revive your old PCs or laptop device. I've used it for a whole year and have to say, it's reminiscent of the Windows desktop and personally, even better than that considering the low system requirements it has.

XFCE desktop environment is really happens to exist in most of not all of the Linux distros. It's light, fast, and configurable. I use it daily with my installations of Manjaro, Ubuntu, Linux Mint and others. If you're having a general PC/Laptop which is medium- or less powerful, you definitely should consider XFCE. Also, if you are looking for speed.

Sometimes the XFCE package is installing not fully so you will not have some of the tools of the XFCE; which is quite bad. Also, experience with XFCE is really very different depending on your basic Linux distro.

If you want super-speedy desktop that looks good; search no further. XFCE is good balance between speed and visual attraction.

It's very light on resources so we can actually give a head to our otherwise headless servers for those that aren't that good using the terminal

Sometimes you need a windows manager that won't load your memory with stuff you don't even need, Xfce is quite a good option for this, windows will move as fast as you can imagine even when using an old computer or even better when connection to remote server and you want the best performance.

You could do some more effort on the background images, I know we are not talking about much resources but the default images are pretty ugly.

Take in consideration this is not for people who are looking for a very fancy desktop manager, but instead it was created for those who need a very good performance.

Get a very good and easy to use user interface for a server running
