I used VMware Cloud Foundation for trialing virtual machines and appreciated that it helps to create environments without needing completely new machines. I like being able to set settings and resources before deploying an environment. The initial setup was easy, and overall I'm happy with how it works.

VMware Cloud Foundation is the most versatile private cloud platform on the market with great UI, streamlined integrations and its main highlight which in my opinion is security and compliance.

I consider private AI part to be somewhat complicated to configure - existing non-private AI solutions are significantly easier to use. Additionally dashboards could be slightly more customizable.

For all our customers that are required to comply with very strict compliance rules VMware Cloud Foundation enables us to deliver our platform with any major issues.

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) excels at delivering an incredibly high performing, rock solid private cloud that squeezes maximum workload density out of enterprise hardware, especially with modern capabilities like NVMe memory tiering and near bare metal GPU virtualization for AI workloads. The UI has also come a long way, doing a better job of centralizing compute, storage, and networking, and the automated deployment experience can drastically cut down onboarding time.

That said, the platform is still highly complex under the hood. Post acquisition support responsiveness can be hit or miss, and the strict per-core subscription bundling creates a steep financial barrier to entry if you don’t actually need or won’t use every part of the full software defined stack.

VMware Cloud Foundation can be a real headache to navigate day to day. Jumping between vCenter, SDDC Manager, and NSX just to get things done feels like the product was designed by committee rather than by someone who actually has to use it. Getting it to play nicely with tools outside the Broadcom world is more effort than it should be, and the API experience is inconsistent enough to slow down any automation work. Performance-wise it does the job, but it's a heavy stack and you feel that weight if your environment isn't massive enough to justify it.

Powerful and reliable platform for managing virtualized environments. Seamless integration, strong security, and excellent scalability for enterprise workloads. I don’t know why my review my moderated. I use this program often.

Steep learning curve and complex licensing costs make it difficult to justify for smaller teams. Performance can lag during peak workloads without significant infrastructure investment. Again, this comes from first hand experience

For me, the best part is having compute, storage, networking, and management consolidated in one place. All of my infrastructure is VMware, and I recently bought VMware Foundation to upgrade from a version that is no longer supported.

It was complex to implement because of the 10GB restriction. Another issue is the cost; I think it has increased compared to the last maintenance I bought. In a restricted environment, the internet permissions are also a bit confusing.

All of my company’s infrastructure is in a virtualized environment, and all the software and appliances are set up within this infrastructure. This environment benefits me because backups and restores are fast.

I love how everything is integrated with VMware Cloud Foundation. I don't have to worry about compute, storage, and networking because it's all taken care of by VMware. It takes the load off our IT team.

Making it less complex. It is a little challenging to get up and running in the beginning. Setting up the enterprise features. Configuration took a while to get up and running. Not necessarily super hard but more time consuming. It was a little challenging but not very hard. I would say medium difficulty with basic cloud experience.

VCF allows you to build an on-prem cloud management platform with automation and modern networking quite easily. It provides a solid platform not only for VMs, but also for containers. It’s a bit large in size, but worth the investment.

VCF requirements are a bit heavy. A lot of appliances are needed to deploy it, and you’ll need at least 1 TB of disk space and around 130 vCPUs to run the show.
