Search & Reporting Hurdles

​While the data is all there, finding it can be a chore.

​The Issue: Unless the metadata was entered perfectly at the start, the search function can be finicky. Building custom reports often requires a "Power User" or a dedicated system admin rather than being something a manager can do quickly on the fly.

For a scientist working in R&D, clinical operations, or quality, Veeva Vault can feel like the gold standard thanks to its regulatory robustness. That said, its workflows can be quite rigid.

It can be click-heavy and laborious, with a rigid workflow built around lifecycles. It isn’t very intuitive until you’ve spent some time getting familiar with it, and I’ve also run into PDF rendering problems.

It connects smoothly with other Veeva modules (RIM, Quality, Clinical), so we’re consistently “audit-ready” without having to put in extra effort. I also like the real-time commenting and the shared access across global sites, which makes collaboration much easier.

It's valuable and important software to store and reference the documents. It's built nature and updations are superb.

No any dislike I have to mention here for that particular software

When we searching any documents regarding any reference study. It's very helpful to us. It's acharay are so amazing.

The interface is user friendly. The multitasking in Veeva vault is appreciated. a lot of tasks can be done through one platform

Easy for trainings

Veeva Vault has many capabilities: it can be used to store and update company Standard Operating Procedures, Policies, Forms, etc. The workflows are easy to use and workflow history (audit history) is stored for each document, which tells the story of the document history. This is convenient when someone is trying to identify if a review/approval workflow took place recently, especially for periodic reviews of company documents.

Veeva Vault has many capabilities and it takes some time to learn all of them. Many users struggle with starting a workflow or viewing workflow progress because they are not familiar with the steps. Also, there are system limitations, for example, only the document owner has access to certain functions that others do not. Only the owner in the system can start workflows or edit medidata (details of the document). Certain actions are only allowed during draft status and are not possible during "in review" "reviewed" or "approved" status, such as changing the document owner in the system.

I work with Veeva on Quality Documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures that are housed there. Veeva Vault is a repository for controlled company documents and it is useful in performing updates to the quality documents and periodic reviews. The workflows allow many users to review and add comments simultaneously and workflow history is stored and can be accessed at a later time. Veeva Vault also has Quality Management and vendor management functions where CAPA's are recorded and vendors are managed.

Honestly there are many things to speak about veeva vault. Below are things that standouts for me:

When I was working with a leading US based pharma CRO, I was using it for review of Trial Master Files (Clinical Ops.)

1. Very easy to review the files.

2. Anyone can have a training in "Sandbox" environment of veeva vault which is nothing but the exactly similar to production environment and I felt it wonderful.

Veeva is an excellent tool in the pharmaceutical company because it allows the medical, legal, and regulatory teams to communicate with other company areas to review materials successfully. The system also allows our MLR coordinators to communicate with OPDP to approve materials easily.

There is not much missing from Veeva Vault. The only thing that can be frustrating is when someone owns the project, only that person can work on the project. It would be nice if multiple people could own projects, especially if multiple people need to work on them.

It's a great system, but there can be a lot to learn, so make sure there is an expert in the company who can train on the systems.

Veeva Vault allows our company to easily communicate with our MLR team to make compliance easier for the company. With Veeva, everyone has their projects in one system, and it makes everything very easy.

Great features for communicating edits, change requests, and seeing document life cycles. Can see history and markup very easily. Easy to look up documents for use too.

Still sometimes have to track people down to push things forward. It's a process issue but I guess software can't magically solve everything. Took a while to figure out downloads at first.

Document storage, access, approval, and revision. Much better method for tracking and communicating needed changes. Easy for members to access current documents for use.

Relatively user-friendly interface. Documents are pretty easy to search for

Sometimes, the tagging/linking feature doesn't save out properly. The pulling forward of annotations can be a hassle, too if there's been major changes to a previously submitted piece.

Can be complicated to understanding when first starting, but it quickly becomes almost like second nature.

Submitting all marketing materials for our pharmaceutical clients. They are being reviewed by medical, legal, and regulatory before being seen by the general public.
