There are so many options to control almost every aspect of your operating system

The only downside I found was with NVidia drivers not reaching the same performance compared to Windows OS

I use the LIVE CD feature to browse the file structure on a PC that has lost the ability to boot properly to create backups

There are the following qualities I like about Ubuntu.

1.) Ubuntu is one of the many flavors of Linux. It has the best graphical user interface and almost feels like UNIX.

2.) Due to ubuntu socket process handling, it gets easy to communicate between hardware and software for developers.

3.) Ubuntu has a robust and flexible command line tool called terminal, which is quite similar to UNIX of the Apple system.

4.) Ubuntu runs on server GUI sessions, thus one can easily restart a new one if the Operating system starts malfunctioning.

5.) The Golang routines are easier to run, as a programmer it gives an edge while running serveral threads.

6.) Ubuntu is also very light weight and very good at utilizing the processing power capabalities. I rarely see my operating system gets stuck while doing tasks.

I have been using the Linux system for a long time, there are some downsides to using Ubuntu, which I believe might be solved in near future.

1.) Playing games is very hard, as games require direct X graphic libraries which are operating system oriented and specially made for windows.

2.) One can easily gain access to everything with just a root password and sudo command, which is a very powerful tool, but sometimes make a mess if not managed properly.

Ubuntu desktop is solving many problems like

1.) Programming is very easy on ubuntu.

2.) Due to the lightweight graphical user interface, most of the processing power is left for the user to use, unlike windows where nearly 40% is being used by processors.

3.) Ubuntu has been supported by large number of community. Thus common errors and issues can be easily solved and managed.

Ubuntu Desktop is one of the best open source software. It has a good and user friendly interface. It offers security, stability. It provides active community support. Ubuntu Desktop is the best software organizations can use.

There is nothing that I dislike about Ubuntu Desktop.

Linux is the best alternative for windows users. There are lot of linux distro to choose but time and time again ubuntu has been the goto distro for all beginners. Here are the advantages of linux

Security - There are not lot of viruses made for linux so it is particularly safe and even if you are infected the damage can be reversed easily.

Updates - They are not intrusive as windows 10 updates and no long wait time

Usability - The linux GUI has come a long way and has become one of the most user friendly distro. even if you don't like the current DE you can always choose from many other flavors

Some of the sides have picked up unthinking fanboys who love to trash the others without any particular thought or understanding, and that's where a lot of the partisan "hate" comes from. But the real underlying competition here is between RedHat, Canonical and SuSE (the companies, not the products).

Quite a number of software changes over the course of the last decade+ have been all about increasing one corporation's control over the wider free software ecosystem. All of them have done it in various forms. And none of it has been for the benefit of the wider free software ecosystem which Linux inhabits.

Ubuntu is Open source that means its Free to use for anyone unlike other OS.

It is also faster and have more security compared to Microsoft.

With increasing community Ubuntu is evolving faster and getting support for any problem is now easier.

It can handle large scale program easily.

Awesome and lightweight OS for developers.

It's quicker than other operating systems.

Software installation process is difficult without using Ubuntu commands.

Initially, we faced an error while running our React project locally on Windows.

Then I switched to Ubuntu, more than three project ran smoothly without any errors.

Flexibility to install apps from anywhere, manage everythin, security and little to no data collection from users

Its ui is good but needs more improvement

It consumes much less resources as compared to proprietary operating systems, more responsive and provides a better developer experience
