I like how references are made to actual accounting standards and best practices. I use the Easy References section the most.
Competitors will have software updates and other delays for changes to standards. Thomson Reuters gets it first.
I'm not a fan of the user interface as it prevents changes to the outlook of the software.
We're creating a central handbook directly attributable to our organization and making great strides in our finance and accounting efficiency teams as a result
Thompson Reuters has made a considerable impact in helping my department make more informed decisions based on the information TR provides regarding third parties.
There are times, especially regarding criminal activity, that not enough information is supplied or provided to make an informed, risk-based decision and requires research outside of TR.
TR has enabled my team to make more informed decisions when it comes to choosing which potential partners to onboard or not to onboard.
It's user friendly User interface and dashboards
Too many options to choose from and no proper guide available
Slightly expensive but worth it
My business problems which ultimately aids in FP&A
For its idea, this would be a great online practice manager, tax and online platform for accountants who are always out and about - you just need a good internet connection. It is set up quite well.
The fact that the platform was decommissioned in Australia despite the lengthy and extensive on-boarding process to try to get our practices to use the cloud. Those who had to find alternative solutions were left to do it with a cutover date of 30 June, which was not ideal.
Online cloud accounting and tax solution for those practitioners who have staff working remotely, and need to be on the road to access software which was previously on desktop.
I liked that Onvio is easy to use. It is user friendly. We were able to communicate with clients using Onvio, and they can securely share and upload documents and send to us
There isn't anything I particularly dislike about onvio. It's a good software overall. The portal could have been more user friendly,
I prefer TaxDome client portal over Onvio
It helps to communicate with clients. It allows us to securely share documents with clients. I think having a secure portal makes us more productive, instead of having to share documents in other ways
I like that it was 100% SAAS Based and accessible from anywhere.
Not all the features of the old programs were there and when I was originally on the service, there was only document management and portals.
The ability to have an integrated suite of programs is the best benefit. Having most of the software that an accounting firm would use in the cloud is a unique benefit over having to purchase multiple cloud based packages from multiple vendors.
The Onvio timekeeping function works pretty well and is the most robust that I have used. The document sidebar can be helpful from an organizational perspective, and the internal document management does what it says it will do.
Onvio has frequent server errors and has previously crashed during the busy tax season. Only certain document types can be uploaded to Onvio, so some of our clients have trouble uploading their documents, especially Apple users. Onvio's client center app is the largest problem with their product. We have to field frequent phone calls from clients who cannot understand how to use the app. We have also previously looked at sending tax organizers out through the client portal, but our staff could not complete the organizer within the app due to bugs in the system. Onvio's workflow management is not robust. There are many better programs out there if that is the primary objective of using the software.
Onvio Document Management does an adequate job at organizing your files and allowing access to your client. Where it falls behind is in the client-facing part of the product and the workflow management. If you're looking for something other than Dropbox or OneDrive to be your primary document storage, then Onvio might adequately serve your needs. It also integrates with other Thomson Reuter products which is a plus for anyone committed to that suite of products.
We have not realized any benefits from using Onvio. The cost of the product combined with the number of issues we have encountered have not provided a positive return on investment.
