Knowmia is very easy to use and understand

I did not like while using the old versions prior 8, the fact that the video quality got affected after rendering the same videos after a couple of times

Creating videos with Camtasia 8 for learning platforms.

Glad that it's a lightweight web app with an interface that is very simple and easy to follow. One can easily get familiar with all the tools in Knowmia and be able to quickly create and view the output. There are options to increase engagement with in-video quizzes and discussions linked to the timeline. I have not personally implemented this as we do not require this feature as of now but its good to know that its available when neeeded.

I have just recently switched to Knowmia and did not come across any issues in particular while using it. If possible I would appreciate if there was an option to preview/Download the captured video locally first before uploading to Knowmia servers. I was unable to find that option. Also this could be because of my internet connection issue but for some reason the time to load a preview was a little bit high.

I am using Knowmia to address the very common FAQs related to using our web solution as well as using it to create welcome videos.

This product makes my presentation more effective and It's really good to handle...

What I like best about TechSmith Knowmia is the ability to record anything on my computer screen.

So far, with my experience in using TechSmith Knowmia, there is nothing I dislike about it.

If you're looking for a simple to use software to screen record, look no further! TechSmith Knowmia is the one! One is easily able to record how-to's, lectures, videos, meetings, etc. and easily share them with colleagues, students, etc. The software meets ADA compliance by generating captions with speech-to-text. One is able to edit the captions, if necessary. The audio tracks can have a description as well. These captions are published when ready. Conversations can easily be added to the video. Quiz questions can also be easily added to the video. Media can be imported into Knowmia and this media can be from Camtasia, YouTube, Snagit, Zoom, mobile device, etc. The media used in the video can easily be organized with collections and/or by learning content. The videos can easily be edited until you have it all done. Once ready, the videos can be downloaded as MP4 for easy sharing. One is even able to set the new thumbnail for the file! The video can also be copied. TechSmith Knowmia offers plenty of online support and tutorials for the user to be successful in using it, from creating a Knowmia account, to recording your first video, to editing the mistakes in your video, to sharing the video with others.

I am able to capture step-by-step of tasks that need to be done and I'm able to share it with my colleagues to improve work.

I like how this software combines many of the elements found in Camtasia and Snagit and used it for presentation purposes. I like that viewers can leave comments for immediate feedback or questions. This is great for vILTs. The reasonable prices and the accessibility features are great too.

I have Camtasia and Snagit already and I don't do too many webinars or live presentations. Yet, I don't have many dislikes.

This is great for webinars/live presentations, especially due to COVID and many working from home. This is also great for K-12 and higher ed sectors.

How easy it makes to learn about Digital Platforms.

No complete dislikes at all but GUI can be little bit improved.

I am trying to create a Virtual Classroom Environment.

Ease of use and seamless integration with Canvas and YouTube. Although I haven't used a lot of the additional editing options, or the options to integrate discussion into the videos yet, I plan to do both. They are fantastic options!

So far I haven't found anything about it that I dislike. I wish there were an automatic CC/subtitles generator, but then again, maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet. So, if there is, ignore this bit!

Don't make your decision based on your experience with other platforms. This is a game changer!

I'm able to easily communicate with my online students without typing long email messages or online announcements (that most don't read anyway). I'm also able to integrate them into my Canvas courses without first uploading them to YouTube or trying to upload huge video files into Canvas. Both of these are saving me an incredible amount of time each week.
