Tanium is like a swiss army knife for endpoint and network management and security.
Tanium can be expensive, but they are top notch and you can negotiate significant discounts.
Patching automation and security visibility and reporting has come a long way with Tanium. We spend much less time now with Tanium TanOS operating system and system lifecycle - weekly updates. It's a breeze now. Tanium has come a long way from where it started.
Tanium tool was well designed user friendly tool. Segregated module wise for Infrastructure needs. Very easy to schedule & install patches and also for agent installations/uninstallation. I recommend this tool for al the IT infrastructure
Upgrades of Tool might get little confused using the UI
I recommend this tool for mass activities. Like SOC security, reporting, trend analysis
Using the tool we can implement bulk number of system software installation/uninstallation.
We can schedule as per the downtime.
Exporting server details report
The ability to track and locate assets across my company. This has become more efficient than the wild goose chases we use to run around for. Pull the IP and look what WAN its associated to and get the general area. Plus the last user logged in.
Tanium patching. it can be a hassle and accidentally took server room down...
Do not think twice, it is worth it!
The ability to integrate Tanium information into servicenow to simplify and easily read information.
Tanium is highly customizable and meets our business needs of deploying software/patches to assets across a global infrastructure.
The Tanium interface can be a bit buggy. But customer support is very quick to respond and resolve issues. There's a bit of a learning curve learning the different queries/commands.
Be sure to build plenty of training for your administrators before any production roll-out to your environment.
We use Tanium for patch management (i.e. software/systems updates), software upgrades (i.e. Office 2010 to Office 2013), and computer standardization enforcement. Great replacement for Group Policy.
* Endpoint tooling configurations are less tedious, and Tanium takes care of the availability & security management.

* Tanium infrastructure supports multiple data hosting regions, thereby improving resiliency & recovery management of our customer data.
* All our new implementation & endpoint configurations are easily modified in the Tanium cloud platform's cloud-native infrastructure.
* We have recently started using the Tanium platform for one of our new customer requirements.
* Tanium agent scans through our entire cloud infrastructure and provides visibility without any additional costs.
* Since all endpoints are under Tanium's dedicated pipeline, we can utilize the parameters from our pre-existing data source connections.

* So far, we are satisfied with the services offered by Tanium for our cloud-native application deployments.
* Tanium cloud platform predominantly secures our instance endpoints from external malicious attacks & network vulnerabilities.
* It enhances the security compliance standards of our customer data through PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) & adhering to major regulations such as GDPR, HIPPA, PCI and VPAT standards.
* Administration of the endpoints is seamless thanks to its endpoint intelligence & end-to-end patching services enables us to identify network vulnerabilities & regulates comprehensive patching solution.
* Its predefined templates allow us to deploy applications that are used frequently & by enabling continuous monitoring, we can easily recognize threats that are targetting all these applications.
* We can also store our logs on dedicated server instances so that our log history won't get tampered with when there is an internal threat attempt.
Checking for endpoints in our environment has been eased with the use of tanium. We can always check what applications are available on the workstation.
All the queries need some time to get used to. We cannot directly ask what we want!
Endpoint identification and application management.
The ease of configuring patching schedules
Total control with admin to push patches and force install
Easy to push packages (Updates ) OTA
Must for managing large infra as it takes to much time to do these tasks manually
Nothing that I dislike, All good at the moment
No more manual patching
no more getting downtime windows, can push updates via tanium without logging into the server
I like that it provides an end to end solution that bridges the gaps between teams.
Products of this type are notorious for having very expensive support and acquisition costs.
Definitely helps fill the gaps between functional teams such as security, networking, and sysadmins. An all-in-one solution also helps speed diagnosis and remediation of crucial issues. Adding asset inventory, patch management, and software distribution really adds to the overall value of the product.
We investigated this product at a recent trade show but have not purchased or implemented it.
It’s end point protection against known APTs and assuring end devices are complaint with required aspects.
We’ve moved to a model where now end devices have multiple programs and processes that are duplicative and when looking for performance, that becomes a detriment. Tanium has some great capabilities, but it overlaps some other products. The “corporate” model my “company” network uses has been very redundant in nature, and has resulted in conflicts with other software and 100% disk and cpu utilization at boot up. The result has been serious decline in user experience and a “get a coffee” at start-up syndrome.
Solves many problems, but deconfliction required
It’s automation removes some touch maintanance and makes software management and has capabilities if fully employed, and if capable of removing other repeats, it would likely be an outstanding product.

One of the best thing about Tanium is that it meets many requirements as an endpoint security tool. It has various modules to help us in achieving what we want- be it reports for analysis or deploying any patch or upgrade.
It is a bit complex for people who are to cyber security stream and are using Tanium as a first tool for hand on experience on endpoint security.
Tanium is solving three fold problems of detection of vulnerability, analysis of the imapct of it on the environment and then resolving it by upgrading or deploying patches related to the same.
