We've been using SwiftKanban for over a year in my organization. We are an IT organization and we use SwiftKanban for both Dev and Ops side of the organization.
We evaluated 5 different tools when we started on our Kanban journey. We finally settled on SwiftKanban because of its following benefits -
1. Powerful metrics and reports - we found SwiftKanban to have the best metrics that we wanted to use as part of our Kanban implementation. Not only did they have the best set of basic Kanban metrics such as the CFD, Cycle Time and Throughput charts - but also other great charts such as the Cycle Time Distribution, Control Chart and Blocking Analysis. They have now added even more metrics - including Flow Efficiency and the Adjacency Matrix - which we love!
2. Several features to support the Daily Standup, the Weekly Replenishment and our Monthly Retrospective meetings. These features include Card Aging, The "What Changed" feature, and the Calendar views - besides of course the Board Playback that allows us to see how our board played out for any review period!
3. Card Hierarchy - they have the most flexible card hierarchy feature that allows us to model intra- and inter-board hierarchy for different types of boards. We have set up program and application/ project level boards for this. Great representation of the hierarchy as well as rollup of progress information.
4. Excel Import/ Export - This took some time to get used to - but we truly appreciate the capability here - helped us move data in initially - as well as help us move data between apps. We are now looking to buy SwiftSync for real-time integration with JIRA and TFS that we use.
4. Overall power of configuration and yet the ease of use. While there is a lot of horsepower to the tool, it is still reasonably easy to set up and use. Their SmartLanes swim-lanes capability is the best I have seen across any Kanban tools.
On the cons - it can be a bit overwhelming at the start - since there is so much to the tool - they could do better with some better initial user help and videos. But they have outstanding support and hand-holding - and a great response time on support - that really helped us in the initial weeks of usage of SwiftKanban.
Overall, I strongly recommend this tool as one of the - if not THE - best enterprise Kanban tools.
