Extensive Data-Driven Insights, Seamless Github & Slack Integration, Improved Team Productivity, User-Friendly Interface
Limited Customization Options, Occasional Bugs & Glitches, Limited Issue Tracker Integrations, Lack of Granular Repository-Level Insights
Swarma is lauded for its ability to provide enhanced operational visibility through detailed data analytics and reporting, particularly its insights into pull request metrics and development team performance. Users appreciate its ease of setup and integration with tools like Jira, GitHub, and Slack, finding it particularly helpful for tracking progress and identifying bottlenecks. However, some users note limitations in customization, particularly concerning investment categories and filtering options, as well as a need for more comprehensive documentation to fully utilize all features.

I was initially looking for a solution that would better sync Slack and GitHub, and on that first point Swarmia is excellent. My aim was to keep PR review pace up, and I felt like being able to manage large parts of the code review process in Slack would help, and it really has. We've tried a few PR->Slack integrations and Swarmia is definitely the slickest.
Then onto the features I didn't know I needed - the PR Insights, the Linear integration, the new CI Insights (my favourite thing at the moment). What's been really helpful is having the visual representation of how we're progressing on our original goal of keeping PR review pace up.
The more time I spend on the platform the more I find helpful features. Definitely recommend.
It's no necessarily a dislike, but a customizable landing page would be great addition. If I could pick the metrics I care about to see all at once it'd be an excellent resource. At the moment the landing page seems geard largely towards onboarding and navigation, which I feel could be achieved elsewhere in favour of having an overview type page.
Keeping PR review velocity up, analysing CI usage, tracking project velocity.
Slack notifications for github are way better than the native ones from github. You only get what you need.
Metrics and insights you get from the product are really helpful and give a complete overview of how the engineering team is working.
Agreements are a nice way to improve processes in a collaborative way.
It would be great to have some additional options to map between Jira tickets metadata and types of tasks in swarmia.
Sometimes you do not have clear view of how well the engineering team is collaborating, the amount of work put in different type of issues and projects, etc. Swarmia gives a lot of visibility and clarity about these topics.
- Simple to setup. Connect your issue tracker, your source control and let the magic happen
- No need to change your agile process
- Data is collected and available within minutes
- Combo of DORA and SAFE metrics in 1 platform
- The team loves the Slack integration - especially PR reminders
- Support resolves issues in 24 hours
- So many insights and the UX is easy for entire team to understand.
- I wish they had a direct integration into CircleCI for releases. We were able to work around it by using the API. But it took extra work
- For the stage and size of company, Swarmia is perfect. I could see a really large team needed more complex functionality
We want to track SAFE and DORA metrics to help measure the team to hold everyone accountable. The worklog insights is super value to help with team happiness and not working alone on projects.
- Outsading and easy to use dashboard
- Github app works seamlesly and does not need any setup
- You can start to see usful insights right away
- Slack integration is thoughtfly designed and does not bring noise
- Working agreements feature can instantly start your team on a track of imporvements
- Lack of integration with Project Management tools outside of Linear and Jira
- Needs more working agreements
- Incorporate PR size into more metrics
Measure the output of the team and improve hard to measure metrics.

* What is most helpful about swarmia?
I haven't fully explored its capabilities, but the standout feature of Swarmia for me is its work tracking. The UI is incredibly intuitive, allowing you to easily monitor your recent work, whether it's from the past few days, weeks, or even your team's activities.
* What are the upsides of using Swarmia?
The advantages include enhanced visibility and accelerated feature shipping.
No downsides or things I dislike, I just enjoy using it.
Swarmia has been incredibly valuable in helping me stay organized and on top of my weekly tasks and projects.
The lack of visibility was making it difficult to recognize process bottlenecks and possible improvement areas and every team used a different there was no consistency between the teams. Swarmia really helped us to consolidate the way we look at data letting us collect DORA metrics and the SPACE framework.
The re is no integration with YouTrack, our issue tracker
It helped us having consistency amoing different teams and gave us the tool to track DORA metrics and the SPACE framework
It is very helpful to see trends in how long a developer takes to complete a task. The quantitative data surrounding pull requests allows leaders to effectively track areas for improvement and whether or not a developer is responding to advice on improving performance. Swearmia also has a very easy to use platform.
N/A - I've really enjoyed all of the features thus far.

With Swarmia you can trust that the important information reaches you when the event or actions happen. Having the data available via Slack integration gives visibility to the development process to all team members at once.
There aren't really many downsides. In our team the biggest issue is that we are not yet utilizing all the features available. But it's nice to know that they are there if we need them.
Swarmia gives developers much-needed visibility to their own work. It integrated nicely with all core tools we use. This makes it easy to keep improving the process seamlessly.
