It’s been great to see the SparkReceipt team keep improving it without losing what made it so useful in the first place. Honestly, even if it had stayed exactly as it was back in 2024 it still would’ve been worth it for me.

I work in business ops with SMBs in a fractional/ad hoc capacity, so I need something simple but dependable to keep finances organized and CRA/ASPE/IFRS/GAAP-aligned. It’s a light lift for clients on the input side, but the output is organized, readable, and accountant-ready.

I like that SparkReceipt is very simple to use. The screen scraping functionality is really good. It allows me to easily have all of my expenses and income information in one spot, making it simple to see the data. It's easy to export it. They make regular improvements, and they've been pretty good. The initial setup was incredibly easy, and I was able to set it up as I grew my business.

I do wish there was just one field on the top of one of the screens (the original screen with Expenses on the left side, and Income on the right by month), in the middle, that had the income minus the expenses. But I think there is another screen where that is now in place, so not a big deal.

I use SparkReceipt to record my receipts and track income versus expenses easily, without spreadsheets. The screen scraping is good. It centralizes all my financial data in one spot, making it simple to see and export.

Sparkreceipt makes it easy to capture my receipts / expenses. Its AI extraction is shockingly good - better than any other system I've used.

I haven't noticed any downsides - I wish it connected to my bank and let me reconcile, but it doesn't.

I like that SparkReceipt is easy to use and the scanning feature is very useful. It quickly pulls information from receipts which I just need to confirm. It's great that it picks up on the correct card used and logs it appropriately. There's also a new upgrade that can import email receipts, which I am excited to try. These features make SparkReceipt valuable because they save time.

Sometimes when it is scanning a receipt, it doesn't read the purchase date properly.

I can share my receipts with my accountant using her own login, which helps with taxes. I keep copies of receipts easily by uploading them immediately, so I don't worry about them anymore.

At last, there's an automatic solution to handle the tedious aspects of running a business.

Up to now, I haven't noticed any drawbacks.

It organizes all the chaos, sorts everything out, and generates a clear report for my actual accountant.

- Scan function is awesome, the ocr works great! Scan and register an invoice in no time

- Organization: clear and simple

- Few clicks to have a complete overview, from financial reports, spending budget, all...

- Having a mobile app would be perfect but the mobile version is complete and works very well

I love the quality of everything that spark receipt does. The value is unreal! The OCR technology on Spark receipt is way ahead of the competition through the power of AI. They have the most generous offering I've seen in this space you can email receipts and income to a designated email address, and it automatically pulls it into your account according to date amount and category using AI.

Honestly, there's nothing I don't like about it other than the fact that it's not more popular. Although that hasn't seemed to stop them from giving an generous offering and developing an exceptional product.

This is a pre-accounting software. This cuts down on about 70% of our bookkeeping and accounting work, because we are able to quickly at a glance see what the month's income and expenses are. We can email expenses into our designated email address which will automatically scan all the details and classify them. Later we're able to push those straight into QuickBooks Online.

Good AI, support for multiple currencies, email processing, comparable to much more expensive solutions.

Some users may find the user interface and overall user experience of the software to be less intuitive or user-friendly compared to other similar applications. Not a big "but" for me, but maybe for other users.

Saves time and effort in scanning relevant information from receipts, categorizing and streamlining expense tracking.
