SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper very useful and reliable network mapping and managing tool for new and existing network. Its ability to use for troubleshooting to design and planning.
Nothing to say as bad, it has many supportive features for design and scan the existing network.
Easy to scan the existing network and its auto-generates network maps.
I have used SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper for scan existing network and its auto-generates network maps. The report can be exported maps to MS Visio, Solar Winds Network Atlas, and PDF format etc.
SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper helps to create a new network diagram and the exist network and get the network with any extra effort. At the exist network jut connecting the network, scanning the network can easily get network map.
Trail version having few options, have to purchase for getting all the features.
SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper is very user friendly, effective tool for network mapping.
SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper is a reliable tool for mapping, visualize and manage the network map. Also SolarWinds gives detailed reports in many data formats.
We like the visibility the software gives us. Each member of the team can access the software to do their specific tasks.
Nothing. Whenever we have run into an issue that may be a negative, we have received excellent support to resolve the issue
The ability to remotely manage our client's accounts and provide proactive support.
The SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper allows users to quickly create a view of their network with minimal effort. It also allows for live updates and provides a view where issues are occurring and what is affected.
The initial build of the maps within SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper can take a significant amount of time. This may be due to the size of our network and the resources available to our Solarwinds infrastructure, but the delay could lead some to abandon use of the tool. The product is limited to requiring the actual maps be built using a client application. For a product suite that is mostly web-based, it is disappointing that one of the powerful tools in the suite requires a client in order to be fully utilized.
As with any discovery tool, patience is a must. It may take time to fully build the maps that will meet your needs, but once the effort has been placed, you will be greatly rewarded.
The SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper is allowing our team to visual identify where issues may be occurring within our infrastructure while also identifying systems we are not aware of that could also be affected by said issues. One of the benefits that has been realized is the reduction in time from an issue being identified or reported to when the source of said issue is identified and a resolution has been implemented.
The best thing i like in Network Topology Mapper that it gives a great view of the network devices and location map. Easy for me to see which device or which location is down and easy to troubleshoot the right things. I do use other products of Solarwinds like NCM, UDT,NPM, but this product is damn good
Everytime i say that the only thing is support and renewal costs
Easy troubleshooting when device is down
It's a great multi featured tool for your toolbox. Immediate notification alerts when connectivity or usage thresholds are exceeded. The reliability and consistency of the process is key to providing support. The ability to create groups that reflect our infrastructure. Allow support personnel to get an immediate view of status of a particular set of network and/or server equipment. Detailed information provided in a variety of formats. Allows various groups to review data in formats that work best for them and are clear and easy to use.
The user interface could be designed more like a dashboard. The enclosed DB engine seems to have more problems than others. Other than that, no problem.
Continue to enhance the UI ease of use. The format and ease of finding information is good but continuous improvements are useful.
It's great for managing high volume operations,
Easy to manage and also to manage and view the firewall rule set
navigation is bit slow. As the page loads slower
Time saving in searching a switch location and configuration details
change and view switch configuration
SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper is simple to configure and user and it provides a more detailed map with more data that you input. Depending on the size of the network you are scanning, it can complete very quickly. We have used this the most with SMBs and at most the mapper only runs for a few hours before it is complete.
There is not much to dislike about the Solarwind Network Topology Mapper. The only thing I do dislike is the appearance of the program. Although it works well, it could definitely use a makeover. Many users may balk at the simplicity of it, but I think that is what makes it great.
This is very basic software and very easy to use. This requires SNMP to be enabled on all network devices. If SNMP is not enabled then the mapper will not run the way it is supposed to. The biggest issue I have seen when using this program is that customers do not understand that SNMP needs to be enable for this to work. There have been many times that, even though they are told to enable SNMP they do not, and the work takes much longer.
By using SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper in conjunction with Risc Networks we are able to provide customers a detailed review of their network, a simplified map, and we are able to use this information to create 3-5 year plans for service and hardware replacements.
Is useful in inspecting and auto develops the network maps and also shows the changes done in the network.
It maps the environment and gives the each and every details of inventory, port usage etc.
The very first scan in the environment takes a lot of time or slow in the large scare environment compared to smaller network zones.
It helps in mapping and visualize large network zones.
All types of polling devices is included in the scan like icmp, snmp and wmi.
Scheduled scan and reporting
