I like SAP PLM for managing documents and change management, as it provides capabilities to manage business requirements and flexibility to handle all business processes easily. The recent Change record functionality in Fiori is a great initiative, providing more flexibility to manage change management. The document management system is also a great solution from SAP. The transition from GUI to Fiori setup for change records was easy and quick.

The visualization of assemblies or parts in the change record or document management system can be improved. It could be better by bringing in a separate inbuilt functionality with Fiori similar to View Port.

SAP PLM manages our business requirements and processes easily, offering flexibility. The Change record functionality in Fiori enhances change management flexibility. The document management system is also a strong solution.

You casn register and find all information that you might need for your process. Ranging from CAD drawings and design models to actual MROs and product information. There are many useful transactions that you are able to register which helps implement other relevant transactions in one page. This is a daily software that is used at work.

There is only one thing I might dislike from SAP PLM and that is that the software/app window is always-on-top and it gets annoying when you're using other software.

It solves registering everything and all sorts of transactions and keeping all of the product's data up to date as well as storing older revisions for future reference. It basically stores all data you throw at it and it's as easy to access it as it is to upload data.

What I like best about SAP PLM is its ability to integrate product data and processes across the entire lifecycle—from design and development to manufacturing and service. SAP PLM is its strong support for collaboration and integration, allowing teams to work together efficiently while maintaining consistent.

Users find the user interface less intuitive compared to newer, more modern platforms, which can impact ease of use and adoption.

SAP PLM solves key problems related to managing complex product information and processes by providing a centralized platform for product data.

Best is how to see entire period of your product from borning to end.This is how you engage your system and product together while using a database where several people have access

Mobile access and some departments as an example import/ Export area is not using this programme due to some limits. This needs to be taken account for the further developments

Benefit is visible for entire company to control all product and material releated documents / informations/ know how/ history is available in the syatem and accesable for evetirybody

All in one software, it is used to create BOM,

Taking new part numbers, revision control, ECO,ECR's Helps in Design and Engineering.

SAP User interface, looks very light colour, old fashioned, Not cretes interest for end users.

Keeping track of the parts and assemblies ,

During my internship project, I have used SAP PLM for 3 months through the internship project to streamline the entire product life cycle management where I realized that it is perfect for any application for fulfilling all business needs. It does the job. While deploying my prototype, It has provided the 360-degree-support for all product-related processes - from the first product idea, through manufacturing to product service. I have later also implemented it in SAP S/4 Hana for much better efficiency and to reinvent business models and to drive new revenues and profits. I believe that this tool can fit all types and sizes of manufacturing business. During my research phase, I have also drawn the comparison from SAP PLM tool to other PLM tool in the market. I have never seen such endless possibilities given in any other PLM tool. It gives me a lot of historical data where I could make my Purchase Requisition, Materials and Bill of Material. It supports flexible and new product development processes and streamline the management of project proposals, progress, tasks, timelines. It has really given the concrete way of cost-centered view of the product design and development lifecycle. This makes processes related to the product consistent, efficient, and simpler

Sometimes I felt that it is bit difficult to learn and use in the practical way. There are no documentation, training and modules available through the internet for practical implementation of the tool. There are number of different options available which seems to be irrelevant for the beginners. There are no copy paste to ease the work and process. There are lot of customizations that is required for each organization to accommodate their own processes.

I was trying to streamline the end to end lifecycle of Beer Product life Cycle management starting from the first ideation, through manufacturing to product service phase. The best thing I liked about was that it makes processes related to the product consistent, efficient, and simpler and provides lower-cost calculation to manage product development, support, and recycling projects effectively.

Document Management system is well rounded

Sometimes it lags. There is a blind spot with S4 Hana that will not be easy to fix.
