Making Product and Team Workflows Seamless
What do you like best about Plane?
Plane is simple to set up with a clean, intuitive UI/UX that makes onboarding quick and effortless. As a product company, it’s been invaluable for tracking product development plans, marketing and sales work items, and customer requests — all in one place. It makes progress measurable and keeps everyone aligned. The mobile app is also a great companion, making it easy to stay on top of tasks anywhere.
What do you dislike about Plane?
An excellent tool for managing product development and team workflows, with strong potential to become even better as integrations and AI features evolve.
What problems is Plane solving and how is that benefiting you?
Plane helps us bring product development, marketing, sales tasks, and customer requests into one unified workspace. This eliminates the need for juggling multiple tools and spreadsheets, making project tracking more transparent and measurable. The simple UI and quick onboarding mean our team can focus on delivering work instead of learning software. Having everything centralized has improved cross-team collaboration, reduced miscommunication, and given us clear visibility into progress and priorities — ultimately speeding up delivery and improving accountability.

A refreshingly simple tool that does exactly what our team needs
What do you like best about Plane?
Plane hits the sweet spot between flexibility and simplicity. We're a small team juggling multiple projects across design, dev, and ops, and Plane has helped us bring structure without the usual complexity that comes with project management tools. The Pages feature is a quiet hero, we use it for documentation and context sharing right next to our tasks. Also, onboarding new team members has been a breeze thanks to the clean UI.
What do you dislike about Plane?
Nothing major so far. We’re on the free plan, and it’s handled everything we’ve thrown at it. Would be great to see a few more workflow customizations or integrations over time, but we’re not really feeling the need yet.
What problems is Plane solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a lightweight but capable tool to manage our cross-functional work without overwhelming the team. Plane gave us just enough structure to stay on top of things whether that’s breaking down sprints, organizing tasks by priority, or documenting key processes. We’ve saved time, stayed aligned, and avoided the overhead of heavier tools like Jira.

Its minimalistic design ensures tasks are easy to categorize, track, and manage without unnecessary complexity. Plane doesn't have desktop app, currently using it via web catalog.

Why I Switched From Asana to Plane
What do you like best about Plane?
Self‑Hosting Freedom
What do you dislike about Plane?
One of the biggest pulls for me was Plane’s support for self‑hosting. Rather than surrendering all my data to a cloud vendor, I spin up Plane on my own servers (or in my private cloud) and maintain full control over backups, compliance, and uptime. This isn’t just a checkbox feature—it’s seamless to deploy (Docker‑ready, Kubernetes‑friendly) and integrates with my company’s existing identity and monitoring tools.

Plane became our management tool due to its great UX and vast toolset
What do you like best about Plane?
We needed a project management software that was simple but allowed us to easily trace the tasks done by our product, development and quality assurance teams. This was easily handled by plane and in recent versions it has even facilitated our progress reports with its newest charts' features!

Recommendations to others considering Plane?
In my experience, Jira was too much, while asana was too simple, and clickup too convoluted... Plane's UI, on the other hand, has the most amount of information possible in a simple and beautiful UI. Our company uses it on an everyday basis and we count with all the features we need: time tracking, task estimation, traceability matrix features, gantt diagram visualization, OpenIDC integration, an API that allows us to expand upon it, heck, we even host our own database so we can create anything we want with said data.

Project Management Simplified
What do you like best about Plane?
Plane is perfect for our small team many of whom are new to Project Management tools that didn't approach it with pre-conceived notions of how things should work.

Game changer
What do you like best about Plane?
Our technology teams started using Plane to manage our various workloads. We have an intake helpdesk that didn't allow affordable tracking of work. We initially starting using Plane as lists and Kanban boards, but have since switched to Agile Sprints (called 'cycles' in Plane) and really like how we track and measure our work.
What do you dislike about Plane?
Recommendations to others considering Plane?
While this is a fairly new product, they move fast and offer fantastic support.
What problems is Plane solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are currently just a few integrations. I would like to see one with FreshService. But their API is robust, and webhooks work very well (if a bit chatty).

Solid project management tool with a short learning curve
What do you like best about Plane?
I needed to quickly enroll ±25 people in a project management tool, and Plane did the job.
What do you dislike about Plane?
Recommendations to others considering Plane?
My primary concern was that most users aren't very technical, so I was looking for a solution with not too many bells and whistles, or at least a way to hide them from most users. Plane helped me with that, and a complete deployment with migration from a previous solution took less than 2 weeks.

Excellent software for project management
What do you like best about Plane?
There are a great deal many things I love about Plane but mainly the ability to quickly make checklists within a card. It is so essential as a developer in my opinion to have a plan of your task list and being able to quickly and concisely update this is without doubt one of thee most important things.
What do you dislike about Plane?
Recommendations to others considering Plane?
Some project management tools enforce you to create checklists by writing them out one at a time but Plane keeps it like a bulleted list. This means it takes away the clunkiness of requiring a mouse to update a tasklist which most coders that I know do not like.
