.Direct Connection to the Database without needs the Oracle Client

Still Can't connect to oracle exadata cloud via direct connection

No need to install oracle client in the client side, save time of installing the client

It's a completely native component, you don't need Oracle Client. If there was no ODAC, we would have to install Oracle Client for our application, which means installing more Gbytes to the end user.

Sometimes problems can occur when you do not use OracleClient(Direct Mode) in ThreadSafe mode.

If you want to connect to Oracle database with Delphi, you should definitely use this component.

It eliminated our need to communicate directly with the database without the need to put a service in between.

Whether you have a simple query or a complex Oracle stored procedure, ODAC makes it easy to access the data you need, automatically retrieve and then customize field definitions and use the data in any components you have. The use of parameters and macros allow all parts of a query to be modified on the fly for maximum flexibility. The "direct" mode of accessing Oracle eliminates the need for any client software for the users. Overall, the components just work the way you would want them to work. ODAC is the perfect blend of being feature rich, yet simple to use. I have been using ODAC for many years and ODAC and other DevArt components are always consistent and solid. They are also always timely in keeping current with Delphi updates.

I've never had a complaint! I honestly cannot think of anything to dislike. I don't know how I could develop my applications without these components.

Other products seem to work well with queries and other databases, but ODAC is the only one I have found that makes it simple to work with Oracle stored procedures with cursors. Also, the ability connect to Oracle from the clients without requiring any Oracle software on the client systems makes deployment a breeze.

The components are easy to use and the interaction with the database is fast and very uncomplicated. I have used them for the last 10 years and there were nearly no problems.

As I'm using ODAC and SDAC in parallel in my Delphi environment, I encountered some problems when updating one of the component sets due to incompatibility between the versions. Therefore, both need to be updated at the same time.

ODAC helped me to make a "driverless" application that could be easily distributed.

Easy to access and great connectivity with Java components.

Nothing to dislike about this product. All Oracle products are great and provide great support.

Data quality

I like that it is easily integrated with Visual Studio which is our development environment of choice.

I also like that it can run on several platforms that we use including WIndows, Mac OS X and Linux

we use databases incredibly large in size and occasionally have issues with that.
