Quite perfect tool for drainage visualization, simulation and also roadway drainage designing. Getting started with the product is very simple and user can even use this tool on Macrostation. The tool has also helped in saving much time designing time. Generally the product is good in designing drainage systems on construction projects.
Nothing to dislike about this amazing software, though its not that simple but for the users with little knowledge on similar tool can easily understand the package.

There isn't any custom setting added scripts or commands you can input, but there isn't a need for that in this software.

Its a great tool to use for displaying your stormwater designs in a graphical way. Makes it very easy to generate reports, and display information for people without an engineering degree to understand the information conveyed.
The software is primarily run with a mouse. No command bar like typical bentley/autodesk products, so it can become tedious if you are designing a large storm network. Also note this means there isn't any custom settings/ added scripts, or commands you can input, but there really isnt a need for that in this software.
It's really easy to pick up. Take time to familiarize yourself with the different network components that you can create and be consistent with the data you enter for each network piece. It's easy to miss entering data into every network property (pipe or catch basin etc) if you are not careful.
We design all our stormwater systems using stormcad. it allows us to run multiple rain events or peak water runoff events to determine if the system is properly sized.
The simplicity of this product is a amazing.
Very easy to create a profiles.
Though this you can trace your drainage sewer area. It also allows you to define hydrology. and i also like its visualization.
Not that easy to get used to StormCAD, but through training you can. The tool does not have export abilites to other tools like AutoCAD.
StormCAD may be very useful especially on big firms which deals with Drainage installation and designing of drainage.
StormCAD is very reliable tool when it comes to drainage designing, especially for Roadway drainage designs.
I like that StormCAD allows you to define hydrology through catchments or at an inlet. I also appreciate the hydraulic modeling it conducts and that it is user friendly.
I wish that stormCAD had export abilities to both MicroStation and AutoCAD. I also wish that StormCAD allowed the user to take a predefined cell and define inlet parameters to calculate capture efficiencies.

The program has good, consistent results.
It can be challenging to figure out the product. All of the different tables are not organized in the best manner. It can be hard to start and stop drawing pipes as well.

Some of the tools are difficult to understand how to use and take some time to learn. It would be nice if some of the tools were a little more straightforward and simple.

I like the dynamism of the stormCAd/ Sewer Gems, as it can design both Rational method or FEH/SUDS method. I have written macros using excel to shorten the design work such as creating selection sets for the manholes or with particular pipe diameter or material etc. it is very easy to import the macros to the software.
More detailed Analysis and better graphical representation
try using this product it is more user-friendly than any other software, this product can be used to design the stormwater network anywhere on the planet as it has incorporated many design methods used by different regions. Currently, I am using this product for two regions, 1. Middle East ( UAE, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain) 2. The United Kingdom.
Middle East is mainly dealing with Rational Method and UK deals with SUDS, both methods can be designed and analyzed using STorm CAD. Sometimes I have used this product for designing sewer networks in India also. This product is very compatible, you can build the model using Shapefiles, DXF etc. It is also compatible with much mainstream design software such as Info works CS, Infoworks ICM, Civil 3D, Auto CAD etc...
I am able to design the Stormwater network for big township development with lesser time. It can generate reports, Quantity of materials and Pipe profiles can also be generated within no time. Bently has the huge network of the user community and most of the daily problems when designing storm or sewer network can be resolved just by asking the questions in the user community.
