There are tons of standout feature that we get with Netapp Snapvault. But the one that I like the most is the granular control over data protection and recovery. Specifically, what I appreciate most is:

Point-in-Time Recovery: Netapp Snapvault allows you to recover data from any point in time when the snapshot was created. You can control the snapshot creation time using a snapshot policy. Amazing part is that, multiple snapshot copies having the same data do not occupy redundant space on the Storage system, so we also get space efficiency along with point-in-time recovery feature

You do not need a remote Cluster to replicate your snapshots. You can save a longer amount of snapshots using this service locally. Great for quick recoveries any time

The data compression can be better. This is an old technology, since Ontap 7 just had little improvements

Increased the capability to save old versions of local archives.
