Hands down, the best feature is how easy it was to start sending logs. Within only a few minutes of creating an account, I had agents installed on 2 linux servers and was reviewing logs in the portal. It was also very simple to set up dashboards and alerts based on info from multiple systems.
There is a lack of some more advanced features that other log analysis platforms offer, such as anomaly detection and forecasting. The retention plans are also quite limited, especially for ISP-grade syslog.
I was in search of a platform that centralized syslog into a single portal. ObservIQ lets me search logs across multiple systems, with the added benefit of sending alerts for defined events.
Easy to use interface.Indexing the data as they are made available is a great feature that was needed badly
So far I have not found any issue to dislike it.
Loaded with many features, this is the best go to log management opensource product in the market !
Whenever an upgrade was made available, the log agent would upgrade itself in the background without touching the source. This feature helped me to continue without redeploying the entire application.
Easy setup, Web interface (dashboard) is easy to navigate, lightweight app, a lot of integrations.
Web UI has a slightly different look in different browsers
Apps monitoring, what observIQ team calls "observability" basically. all-in-one solution, dashboards and reports are easy to interpret.
ObservIQ was a quick and easy solution to add monitoring to our web application. These are the features that I like the most:
1. Easy setup - they had quick and easy directions to get my logs ported and monitored. Each specific application or type of log I needed to monitor had its own pre-built connector or quick set of directions.
I didn't have to spend a lot of time tracking things down or worrying if it was working. It was a really easy plug and play.
2. Great service - Every step of the way Joe was really helpful with any questions or concerns.
3. The dashboards, graphs and reports are easy to navigate and interpret.
4. One of the key features I was looking for was triggered alerts/emails for when certain activity happened on the application. That was also very easy to set up and start receiving alerts.
5. Lastly a great feature is the tailing of logs from the observIQ platform.
Great product and very helpful group overall!
There wasn't a lot to dislike about ObservIQ. It looks like they are continuing to add plugins or connectors to various applications. There were a couple of sources that I needed initially that didn't have a defined connector, but they had a general connector that worked and that could be configured.
My IT team has monitoring in place for the servers in our network and does an excellent job monitoring. As a business/dev hybrid role, I wanted to be alerted if we encountered any issues or unwanted traffic. ObservIQ allows me to be alerted quickly and with detailed and specific issues within the alert. It also helps me to see patterns of application use.
It's easy to setup, has a lot of granularity in terms of analyzing log data, numerous visualization options like vega, timelion, and markdown, and also focuses very much on live tail and alerting to get the job done well.
Not necesarily a negative, but looking forward to see if there could be more support for GCP
Analyzing performance of metrics, to calculate on for capacity planning, summary statistics on for Root Cause Analysis, and how to focus on billing metrics. The benefits within the tool is easily being able to ship logs to observIQ and working on advanced source configuration
I am using observIQ to manage logs for my cryptoBot that is hosted on AWS. I have set up alerts via their alerting; use the dashboards for bot analytics which help to fine-tune the application.
It would be good to have more alerting options and alerting customization.
It keeps me aware when the bot executes a trade, and I can know that the bot is functioning as per expectation. Although I don't make substantially large automated trades, it is marginally profitable/loss-free.
Installation was super easy, and the ObservIQ team was quick to answer my technical questions about running reports and the level of data mining. The logging agent was up and running and collecting data within seconds across all our servers which were exciting to see. The dashboard user interface is easy to understand and use to pinpoint issues in the resources used for each job in our development/production stacks.
It doesn't seem that ObservIQ currently handles logging on serverless functions at the moment out of the box. We are using AWS lambda functions for parts of our production stack and had to design our system to consider the possibility of multiple invocations of the agent. The ObservIQ was super receptive to the feedback and is working toward a solution, however.
Server Logging is a boring subject, and there are many players in the space doing the same old thing. ObservIQ checks the box when it comes to ease-of-use and ease-of-understanding of your complex process. We needed something better than just using AWS Cloudwatch to make decisions and debug problems, and ObservIQ helped us do that. The team behind ObservIQ is top-notch and very responsive to our questions and feedback. For server logging, you can't go wrong with this product.
One of the biggest problems that we deal with due to our data layer queries is the amount of memory and time used by each server/resource. Using ObservIQ, we were able to better understand the timing and details of those queries, the number of resources used and were able to modify/segment work to improve throughput and reduce resource load.
Multiple search functionality and able to handle large data
Interface, which leads me to think dashboard is weak
Great alternate
Log management. I have just started so haven't utilized a lot of benefits. I do think that there is potential for me to gain cost savings over the long term due to integration capabilities
The directions are very straightforward and really do a nice job of choosing which platform you are getting started with and how to properly install it on your device. I was surprised to see how quickly my Mac logs appeared in the dashboard. After a few minutes, I added a data source (mysql) to my agent and again have been happy with the ease of implementation.
Currently there isn't anything that I am disliking.
observIQ is seeing what is currently going on in my MAC system. The benefits I have realized are seeing what is processing in my system and what I can do to fix it if there is a problem or peek into what might be slowing it down. I plan on taking a deeper dive into MySQL and utilizing that integration for quick and easy development.

ObservIQ was very quick and easy to deploy with a single command, it helps easily identify key log entries and track down issues/incidents with the greatest of ease making trawling through logs a thing of the past.
The interface is powerful and comprehensive, but easy to use and very insightful, which transforms a mass of disorganised logs into a powerful analysis tool.
Due to the flexibility of ObservIQ, it can seem a little complicated with its vast options for the configuration of dashboards and visualisations.
ObservIQ has helped identify some system issues regarding the misconfiguration of services that would most likely have gone unnoticed without the increased level and ease of visibility.
