Open broadcaster is a powerful piece of software for doing streaming and screen recording. I can now do quite complex live screen recordings and UI demonstrations quickly. I now use the software every couple of weeks. I can easily integrate different video sources and automatically switch between different 'scenes' by browsing around my computer. The recordings are output to the video folder and then can easily be dropped in powerpoints.

Quite a steep learning curve as this is unlike other software it isn't the easiest to use. It took a while to understand how the interface works and what you can do with it. As on open source product there isn't much in the way of customer support that I'm aware of.

Rather than go through multiple steps to record a prototype first recording the screen then creating a mockup I can now generate these on the fly and even demonstrate them over video chat.

I really like the fact that Open Broadcaster Software has the best full screen recording and multiple cameras that can be added.

In Open Broadcaster Software the auto selected camera is not the auto selected mic.

In my institute, I use it for lecture recording and presentation recording.

OBS Studio is one of the most complete and customizable streaming softwares out there. It helps me set up my streaming settings and scenes in the blink of an eye. While it may not have that many integrations with streaming platforms directly, like showing new followers, sub numbers etc., it's really easy to use some third-party softwares like StreamElements to make it possible.

Some settings might be a bit confusing to new people, who will need to look up what they mean, but honestly the auto configuration works really well.

It's an easy and free solution to streaming games or anything else on Twitch.tv or pretty much any other streaming platform.

I like almost everything about this OBS, especially being an open-source software! You get an amazing experience with professional fine tuning options all for free! The customization options is great, the flexibility in the interface and wide range of fine tuning filters and streaming options is wonderful!

You need to be a pro to do the settings properly, but it is not an issue for this great software :)

I used it mostly for live cam recording with a green background, OBS offers a great filters for removing the background and video over settings.

OBS does a lot of things well, but it truly is the most dependable RTMP streaming encoder that I've ever used. It's free, it's full-featured, it offers fantastic diagnostic data, and (despite the general perception to the contrary) it's actually very easy to learn and to teach. Writing from the perspective of someone who has served thousands of streaming venues in all shapes and sizes: money spent making OBS run better will have a better ROI than money spent on a hardware encoder, 100% of the time in my experience.

The only ways in which I believe OBS really needs to improve are in:

- offering native support for multiple simultaneous outputs

- offering real-time telemetry graphs and better telemetry for SRT streams

Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to have a learning curve, especially for beginners, and its interface can be considered complex. Additionally, OBS may be resource-intensive, potentially causing performance issues on less powerful hardware.

Its customization options, scene management, and active community support benefit content creators, gamers, and educators.

Me gusta mucho la forma en la que esta estructurado el software ya que permite una curva de aprendizaje super baja, es bastante amigable y no se necesita de conocimientos específicos para usarlo, es muy intuitivo. Me encanta poder agregar a las escenas diferentes cámaras y otros elementos, puedo hacer una grabación mientras voy cambiando de escena y de cámara, puedo agregarle filtros, máscaras de recorte y otros elementos dandole un toque profesional a mis videos. La opción de cámara virtual me ha ayudado a integrarla a otros softwares de videoconferencia. Y lo mejor de todo, es que es un software libre, totalmente gratis y que se actualiza constantemente.

Lo único qu no me gusta de este software es que las imágenes con textos que presento mientras la uso como cámara virtual en otras plataformas, como Zoom, bajan mucho de calidad, las letras no pueden verse bien y todavía no sé cómo arreglar este problema.

Totalmente recomendado, tanto si haces videos para Youtube, cursos online, si haces Streaming, o quieres integrarlo a software de videoconferencias, este software es excelente y además, gratuito.

Estoy creando mis propios cursos virtuales y este software ha sido muy útil, me encanta poder cambiar de cámara, agregar elementos como fotos, imágenes, audio y organizarlos por escenas. Aunque no soy una creadora de videos profesionales, el resultado es bastante óptimo y me encanta. Es tan fácil de usar que no resultó para nada complicado comenzar a usarlo, en un par de días ya sabía lo básico y cada día aprendo un poco más.

OBS is extremely easy to install and set up, which is a big relief for IT professionals like me, who often struggle with software installations. The best part is that OBS is free, so my company doesn't have to spend money on screen capture software. I can use OBS to capture audio, video, gaming, displays, texts, and more.

Since I only use it for recording and not streaming, I may not be aware of all the product features, but so far, I haven't found anything to dislike about OBS. The only minor issue I faced initially was deciding what to capture because the display capture feature offers so many options.

OBS helps me solve the problem of user training by allowing me to create, edit, and share training videos on our internal Training site. This saves time as employees can access and view the videos whenever they need to, instead of me having to sit down with each employee individually.

So easy to configure and get your stream up and running.

That we cannot do multi-stream with the standard settings and will need to connect third-party services to do so.

I needed software to be able to broadcast to Facebook as well as Twitch for my gaming. Also needed a screen recorder and this works like a dream.
