NVivo has been a game-changer for my qualitative research work. It provides a seamless way to organize, analyze, and visualize complex data. I especially liked the ability to generate word clouds, perform perceptual mapping, create hierarchy charts, and run cluster analysis, which made my findings more insightful and visually engaging. The transcription and data coding features were extremely useful in handling large volumes of qualitative data efficiently. Overall, it significantly enhanced the depth and clarity of my research outcomes.

While NVivo is powerful, it does have a steep learning curve; it takes time to get used to its interface and fully leverage its wide range of features. At times, it felt less intuitive, especially when switching between different types of analyses. Additionally, the software can be resource-heavy, which slows down performance if the dataset is large. A more user-friendly interface and lighter system requirements would make it even better.

NVivo is solving the challenge of managing and making sense of large volumes of unstructured qualitative data. It helps me systematically organize, code, and analyze transcripts, interviews, and open-ended survey responses, which would otherwise be overwhelming and time-consuming. The software’s ability to create visualizations like word clouds, hierarchy charts, perceptual maps, and cluster analyses allows me to identify hidden patterns, themes, and relationships in the data more effectively.

NVivo does everything I need it to do. I like the many options to highlight, label, and code data.

There is a steep learning curve to NVivo. That said, given the many options and needs of its users, this is understandable.

What I like the most about Nvivo is its ability to organize information in various ways. It can be organized by user cases, research categories, or documents. Additionally, it has many options for analyzing the information obtained from fieldwork such as interviews or surveys.

What I like the least about Nvivo is the access to the toolbar. Some options have very small text and it is not easy to understand which button is the correct one.

Nvivo is my primary tool in my research and thesis with my postgraduate students. It allows me to organize information by categories (nodes), and make annotations on the margin of each coding to be used in the research report. It also allows me to obtain different types of data analysis, such as word clouds and coding frequency. Nvivo is an essential software without which fulfilling my task as a researcher would be very complicated.

I find NVivo very useful in qualitative research. It saves me a lot of time when I am doing thematic analysis and it makes it easy to find related quotes from participants.

I would like there to be more NVivo licenses available for universities and researchers. Universities and research institutions should understand that NVivo is as invaluable as many statistical programmes. I do not know if the lack of availability is associated with the price of NVivo or other issues. I would like there to be a free trial and a reduced price for universities in developing countries with limited resources.

It makes qualitative research easier and it saves times, however, I wish there was a free trial.

Qualitative research. NVivo saves a lot of time and is a good teaching tool for students learning how to do qualitative research.

The software has transitioned to include multi-fold levels of data for coding. Its been a pleasure to use the software, I have been using it since 2011 and have also taken a few lectures with students on how to use the software

I would really appreciate regular information on the changes and up gradation being introduced to the software. Also would appreciate a reduction in cost of single license for an individual like myself, who is not a student, but a researcher and like to keep myself updated with the new features in the software

I used the software for a project which was looking at community insurance uptake for a composite insurance package. I was interviewing different stakeholders for each aspect of the composite insurance package that was to be developed.

NVivo is not that difficult to learn how to use. Just read the documentation and it will guide you!

I can't think of anything that I dislike about this product. I do not know the price of this product as my University provided it to me to do my doctoral dissertation.

Don't be afraid of qualitative analysis - this tool helps you navigate qualitative analysis!

Analyzing qualitative information is always a challenge. Unlike quantitative data which can be analyzed with e.g., Matlab, etc., qualitative data is very difficult to analyze.

The range of options NVivo provides for data analysis

It can be slightly technical and therefore requires training.

Qualitative data analysis, coding data, organising files and exporting them.

Nvivo is the most powerful software for managing and analysing many types of qualitative data, including text, audio, images, or even videos. The best feature for me is the embedded transcription service.

The main problem I have with Nvivo is the cost of the subscription. The monthly price is quite high for individual researchers or small organisations to be able to afford.

Managing and analysing the bulk of qualitative data can be very tedious work to do. But with Nvivo, this is made easier and faster.
