NCI is very much simple and easy to use, but rich in awesome features like DaaS, Flow, Karbon, which are the life savers. In market there are not much competetors having that much of varieties in the features apart from basic hyper-visor and monitoring staff. Also the licensing is pretty much simple than the other competetors.

Only downside of NCI is locking it's best features to AHV eco-system only. The awesome featires like Daas, Flow should be available to not only Nutanix infra, but also for Non-Nutanix infra. By doing so, we can use Nutanix not only as a HCI, but as a whole datacentre solution.

NCI solves the dependencies between various components (like storage, virtualization and network), which helps us to deliver more swiftly and less time consuming. Also it helps us to reduces the footprints.

User friendly environment, supports are very good, product availability is very good. This product is very useful to manage infra, one if the best HCI technology

Nutanix takes the guesswork out of data resiliency. Data is automatically placed where it will provide the best performance can automatically repair itself when a node or drive fails. LCM makes software and firmware upgrades a breeze by automatically migrating VMs and rebooting hosts when needed.

Nutanix reporting is getting better but sometimes it can be hard to tell the exact status of a particular operation. Status on things like node add/remove or software upgrades are not always accurate easy to determine how long they will take.

Nutanix provides easy to manage storage that is fast, reliable, and resilient. Enabling encryption takes only a few clicks. Storage level snashots make replication for disater recovery or relocation a breeze.

Single pane of glass interface allows ease of administration, Life Cycle Management makes updating hardware and software a breeze. Unlike other solutions where searching for compatible drivers and software can make patch management a pain. Very effective migration tools, Nutanix Move, bring quick and simple VM migration activities that can be syncronized and scheduled to allow migrations to commense in a simple reboot of the VM.

Particular vendors do not currently support Nutanix AHV hypervisor for virtual appliances. This is not a fault of Nutanix, but the vendors who remain unwilling to support Nutanix AHV.

We needed a solution to modernize our datacenter, shrink our footprint, and decommission aging infrastructure. Nutanix fit perfectly for all initatives. Our datacenter performance has increased by leagues.

Support assistance is amazing. Other thing that I like is the documentation.

Some advanced features still not available, like vm-vm affinity rule.

It helps to simplify the environment while giving applications more performance. Furthermore it increases team productivity.

Easy 1-click upgrades of VMware ESXi (or Nutanix AHV) and their overarching AOS software.

Lots of compute and storage in a small footprint.

Having used HPE Simplivity in the past, Nutanix is much more mature.

Don't get as much deduplication ratio as competitors as it doesn't rely on accelerator cards etc.

LCM (firmware) updates are not very optimised and often require manual intervention.

Having lots of sites with minimal rack space so having a separate SAN is not an option.

Off-site backups to another cluster are easy and built-in and we have replaced our legacy backup product.

As an experienced user, what I appreciate most about Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) is its simplicity and seamless scalability. The hyperconverged infrastructure streamlines the management of data centers, effectively blending compute, storage, and networking. The intuitive, user-friendly interface is a major plus, and the ability to easily scale resources up or down to match demand ensures optimal performance and cost-efficiency.

While Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure is an excellent platform, there can be challenges. Sometimes, the transition and integration process can be complex for legacy systems. Additionally, although the user interface is generally intuitive, new users might face a learning curve understanding the full range of capabilities. Lastly, the cost may be prohibitive for small to medium-sized businesses, as investing in hyper-converged infrastructure can be a significant expense.

Lastly, by having a more unified approach to our infrastructure, we've reduced our interactions with multiple parties who used to have a fragmented view on securities and vulnerabilities, minimizing finger-pointing during issue resolution. NCI has truly been transformative for our operations.
