Rather than sourcing a company to send a damaged hard drive to in order to recover lost data, NTFS is a great, easy to use recovery tool for home users. I personally like the fact that it has a wizard style configuration for intermediate users such as myself but this may put off some advanced users.
Scanning a disk can take a while to process but I guess that is part and parcel of HD data recovery.
If you don't want to send your hard drive to a company to recover lost files from a damaged drive and you're an intermediate user such as myself, definitely give NTFS a go. The wizard tools makes everything a little easier. Keep in mind scanning a drive can take a while.
