I love how students can filter their search. It is easy for them to look for books and love how they are able to test right after. MyON is also a great tool for students who need help with reading, every book in myOn is a read aloud.
There is nothing I have encounter with this program.
This is a great program that is easy to use with students.
I love how this program is kids friendly.
I like how easy it is to use and keep track of my students reading habits.
Sometimes students have a hard time finding a book.
It is a must, specially now that we are doing distant learning and our students don't have access to a library.
Reading fluency and comprehension. Every since we have been in this pandemic, myON has been a crucial tool so that my students can still read and improve their reading skills.
What I like best is that it empowers students and it gives them the tools to become fluent readers. The students are in charge of their own learning
The one thing that I dislike is not having enough technology for all students to have access
My students are becoming independent readers
Students being able to access and test books at home
I really like everything that it has to offer.
It is a very helpful product to my students
My students are now able to test at home.
I really like the ease of being able to assign projects to the students, monitor their growth and goals that they set, and that there are texts in Spanish for my students.
At this time, there is nothing that I dislike.
Sometimes you do not have the correct Lexile level for the diverse group of students within your classroom or enough interest in certain books, and this product allows students to have a choice in their learning while allowing a teacher to easily track.
How customizable it is for students/children with their preferences
Students can just click through the pages as quickly as they want
Specifically with virtual learning, students can have access to their choice of book genres and select books that are on their reading level and also have the option to have it read aloud to them
With distance learning becoming the norm for school the MyOn program has proven an invaluable tool to offer a myriad of reading opportunities to my students. The options for fiction and nonfiction texts, in conjunction with current event news eliminates any obstacles for access to materials. Additionally with the reports and accountability tools I can track my students' progress on a daily basis, even while working remotely.
The only downside at this point was that my district adopted MyOn after closing the schools. Therefore, instructing the students on how to maneuver the site was challenging. Also, with increased budget cuts maintaining costly subscriptions will be a challenge.
This is a great tool for all levels of education. The articles can be utilized in both an ELA and Social Studies class, while the books can be used for independent reading or whole group / small group instruction.
As an ELA teacher in a high needs school I am solving the material problem. Students now have access to books and articles that we normally would not be able to use.
There are tons of books to choose from. They mirror popular titles that kids gravitate towards. There are tons of fiction, graphic novels, and nonfiction.
The search is pretty bad. It's difficult to find what you're looking for, even if you are typing in the exact title. The subject search pulls up tons of books that don't fit.
When trying to come back to a specific book, link it somewhere as it may be difficult to find through the search.
I can see what students are reading. I can assign my whole class a group of books to choose from that will enhance each of our reading units, as well as other content areas.
I really like the recommendations that myON provides me.
Sometimes I feel like there isn't enough recommendations.
Finding new and interesting material that is relevant to the topic that I'm focused on. I don't have to struggle as much with finding new material

I love the convenience of this tool. This is perfect for nights that families still want to read but have not had time to visit a library or book store. This is even more convenient for students who do not have that support from home since all of the book choices are within their range and interest. I find more students read non fiction in MyON than they normally would.
I actually do not have any complaints at all. Everything works well. I am happy with the program and the book options. I love that they include fiction and non fiction options.
The biggest issue is not having family support for helping students choose books. I love that MyON solves this problem, yet still offers many options of books and articles in several genres to invoke interest
