MOSAIQ Radiation Oncology Reviews

I was new to the healthcare industry and the first program I had to learn was Mosaiq. The program is extremely straight forward. I had to learn the program very quickly, so the layout of Mosaiq made that possible.

The only thing I dislike about the program is the aesthetic. It could be a little more pleasing to the eye. The program also has a tendency to stall when clicking between documents and patient charts. It also quits unexpectedly which can be troublesome at times.

If you are looking for a straight forward program to use for a Radiation Oncology practice than Mosaiq is a wonderful, quality option.

We are able to keep all of our patients organized by having designated time slots for their appointments. The note tab is also very helpful because we can keep each patient's chart up to date by writing notes regarding appointments, hospitalizations or reasons for missing appointments.

I like the ease of navigation between patients and within each patient chart for medical records. Lab results, vitals, and medication administrations are also very easy to enter and navigate. I have to do data entry as a large chunk of my job and the ease of finding this information aids greatly in this task. It also makes it easy to retrieve information in urgent situations, such as when a patient is on the phone asking about something or if there is an emergency and a medication list is needed.

Sometimes the start-up time is slow, and it also tends to lag in the afternoons based on my experiences.

The benefits are great for oncology patients due to the extensive medical records to sift through. At this time I am not experiencing any major problems although the slowness can sometimes be frustrating.

Very easy to use, can place orders and notes easily. You are able to see when patients are ready for their appointment easily.

It doesn't have spell check, it can be hard to e sign docs all at once.

It let us schedule, chart and add orders easily for patients. It is easy to keep all their medical records in one place.

Application is well organized from a practice management, and scheduling aspect.

By comparison to Mosaiq/Elekta's competitor - Varian ARIA was better in how they structured the overall application. GUI leaves a bit to be desired on the ease of use side. Also the built-in reporting tools well very limited.

Take a good look at all the reporting needs prior to choosing to go with software package. Ensure that your practice setting

We solved issues from a perspective of having a system dedicated for the Radiation Oncology as well as Medical Oncology departments. Having all patients pertaining to these business lines, being able to keep track of everything is incredibly valuable.

I like it's Comprehensive electronic medical chart that is flexible for multiple modalities for surgery and oncology..and the reporting function is kinda good.

It is very difficult to use. No end user utility to complete one task in the program ,it takes 10 clicks. It crashes many times

Now it is easy to store and check all medical records.

The notes section is great and I love having room for all the notes we need.

What I disliked the most was it was difficult to learn, and patient pre-payments were difficult to manage.

Very customizable in many aspects, although I am not sure if this is a real advantage. It runs in computers with a well-known operating system.

Over the time they have added more and more options and tools to the menus, but keeping the same old design, which is outdated. Not friendly, not visual, not intuitive, a lot of clicks and window opening and closing are necessary to do things that in other systems are done in a simpler way. Appart from the GUI design, the system itself is also quite slow (even with new hardware) and has occasional hangs. Elekta needs to improve the usability of the system to simplify the different tasks (e.g, pre-treatment review and approval, treatment scheduling in the calendar...) On the purely IT side, it seems that they need to improve the frequent problems with the MOSAIQ WQE service in the server.

Do not trust the marketing claims about how efficient you can be with the system. Consult the real experience of different users (preferently people who know different systems to be able to compare) and visit or call not only the centers suggested by the manufacturer.
