Civil design software
What do you like best about midas Civil?
Midas is good for analysing steel structure and concrete structure. The inclusion of codes of various contry help to easily define the safety factor.
What do you dislike about midas Civil?
The interface is bit clumsy with too much tab it could be improved with less buttons.The autocad intregation is not well when compared to other software which could be improved.
What problems is midas Civil solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me to solve static analysis, dynamic analysis and Geotechnical analysis for stucture and tunnels.

For me designing bridges is so tiresome but with midas civil everything becomes fun and easy because of all its pre and post processing features which allows you to make more accurate designs faster and also the powerful automatic modeling functions the software has such as Auto Mesh Generation.

Best Structural Analysis software in the market right now for bridge engineers
What do you like best about midas Civil?
I like the amount of flexibility it provides for designers. Also, the templates and shortcuts to make a quick model and analysis make it a great choice for bridge engineers like me to use MIDAS as a first to go the software of daily calculations and design.
What do you dislike about midas Civil?
Lack of tutorials and example templates. More youtube videos by users will definitely help.
What problems is midas Civil solving and how is that benefiting you?
Design of prestressed girder bridge as per AASHTO LRFD. I has all the tools to define and apply both static and live loads as per AASHTO LRFD which is one of the many advantages over other similar 3d software.

Midas is a very friendly software for engineering users

I have been using Midas for over 10 years and nothing to "dislike"
What problems is midas Civil solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to model and analyse different types of bridges. I also use Midas to validate my computer programme for FEM analysis. Midas is accuracy, easy to use from the first to the last step.

MIDAS Civil Bridge Design Software
What do you like best about midas Civil?
Various bridge design codes are incorporated in the software both local and international codes. technical support is quick and reliable. Calculations are detailed and can be counterchecked easily through manual calculation. Provides a lot of free seminars.
What do you dislike about midas Civil?
Price of software is pretty high and you have to continue paying for maintenance yearly to receive software updates.
What problems is midas Civil solving and how is that benefiting you?
Modelling time for structures can be cut by a lot though the use of the wizard function. Moving loads are automatic and results are reliable.

Presise wizard specifications
What do you like best about midas Civil?
Easy wizard specifications and user interface. The mct command shell was really awesome when one needs to apply multiple loads.
What do you dislike about midas Civil?
Limitations during application of wave load and different directions of application of wind and wave load in the form of time history simulated using the various wave theories .
Recommendations to others considering midas Civil?
I have used it for my research work. I have modelled a cable stayed bridge and analysed it for combined dynamic excitation due to wind wave and earthquake.
What problems is midas Civil solving and how is that benefiting you?
The MCT command shell is really helpful during the application of the time history load. I have applied nearly 1000 time history loads to my model using the mct command shell and it was pretty easy and fast. Easy user interface with high quality post processing of results.
