The installation is very simple and fast.

It is an effective way to create a report with the necessary data passed through the applications. It is very intuitive.

Written in JAVA and also opensource and free.

Sometimes the passage of some data is complicated if you are a beginner.

I do all the reports with this program and it helps me a lot when it comes to obtaining all the past data from the applications in which I only have to enter the jasperreports library.

IReport is open source report designer for Jasper Report. It is very easy to install. The navigation and UI layout is also good. It's provide you a lot of space to design the reports. You can easily drag and drop the components on the report. IReport provide rich set of components that you can use in your reports like textfield, tab, list, table etc. With the help of IReport user can design interactive reports.

The learning curve is low and user can easily configure the tool. It provides wide range of extensions and external font support. IReport also gives you some predefined templates that the user can use according to his need.

This tool is based on drag and drop functionality. User can see their changes in generated XML. Sometimes the whole xml is cleared when you save the changes. Also, IReport doesn't compatible with Java 8.

We are designing the reports, invoices, and notifications using IReport tool.

I have used the iReport for 2 yrs. It's made the life of a developer so easy. By using this, we need to do only drag and drop. If we require to add any elements (like text field, lines), it can be easily added by dragging and dropping.A new developer can easily start working without having much knowledge about code.

Some elements(like hyperlinked text field, HTML Component) of Jasper report is not present in report.It is very difficult to add new fonts in report. The options present in iReport to fonts are very confusing.If we have used a font for import, and after that we have deleted it for some reason then we can't import same font again.

Due to iReport, we don't need to bother about the syntax of elements for Jasper Report.We don't require any technical knowledge to design a basic Jasper Report.You can get the sample pdf while designing the report.
