1 & 1 (IONOS) has a powerful commercial service, but their major asset remains customer service. You have a telephone advisor who follows you, whether you are an IT professional or a private individual. And that is their strength. Unlike some of their competitors like OVH, who are arrogant and can only be contacted by chat.

Sorry guys, the inability to put SSL certificates on shared servers is really your weak point.

The control panel for 1&1 is one of the clearest and exist to use, especially for less experienced users.

Not keen on the auto builder for websites. Looks very generic and is not as flexible as some of the competition

1&1s WordPress hosting is very good, allowing a lot of flexibility, ensuring that the site you design works well. We have not experienced any downtime and the speeds have always been consistent.

There is less clutter than other hosting services - you get right down to business when you login to their site and manage your hosting service.

If you're used to cPanel or Plesk type interfaces you will find it a bit difficult to adjust to the features of the hosting service. I had some trouble finding what I needed to link my folder to my domain name but eventually found it through the help menu.

If you want something that's geared more toward people who work in IT or web development, then this hosting service is perfect. There is no cPanel or Plesk, but the interface is more straightforward than other hosting services I've tried.

I love being able to use one directory of folders for different sites. I can consolidate all of my websites that I manage in one area instead of going all the way back out to the home screen and then clicking into multiple folders or have multiple tabs open.

IONOS Web Hosting is a fast and reliable web hosting platform. It's easy to use, low cost and easy to maintain platform.

It could have more "local" datacenter but this will be certainly fixed as soon as they get more and more clients all around the world.

We use them for our low-budget customers for hosting their websites and low-resources web applications.

Unlimited everything for a reasonable price. Very responsive every time I contact them.

Occasional very short outages that cannot be explained. I am not sure if these are server glitches, WordPress bugs or attacks, so I am not even sure if 1&1 is to blame.

I have hosted my website on 1&1 a shared server since 2014 and I have found them generally very reliable.

IONOS is a great e-commerce website hosting option to go with. They have 24/7 support and you actually even get your own personal consultant. They don't have the most extensive integrations but they have the ones you need to successfully run your site. It's great for people ona budget too as they usually have insane first year deals and bundles and everything is contract based so you could essentially start a website with business domain and business email for free or an e-commerce package for $13. ( at least at the time of writing this.)

I don't like that they don't have all that many integrations offered. While it's not a deal breaker by any means, it does really limited you on the overall customizability, definitely in comparison with some of these other hosting services out there.

It is solving me the need of an affordable, easy to set up, ànd multiple sub page website. With a business that has many faces and focuses within it, it was important to find a host that allowed for those sub pages.

The platform was already established when I started working for the company. The UI was easy enough. Reports were helpful. We only three options for our shopping cart, so it was not a diffuicult construct. Things were intuitive enough.

My boss and I tried many times to get the reports to my company cell phone. We could never get it to work. Attempts to learn through YouTube were fruitless. Attempts to conatc Ionos for help always took too long and we would get distracted and move on. If I continued to work at a company with this, I would have to wait and get through to find out why I could not link my Google Pixel phone to the website, email, or reports.

Good integration if you use IONOS for other aspects. Not difficult for admin. Fine UI for clients. Trouble getting support. Did not integrate with Google phones.

Because our emails were established with IONOS, adding the Shops to our website was easy enough and integrated well to our company computers. However, as mentioned above, they would not integrate to my Google Pixel 3 smartphone. They did to my boss's iPhone.
