From the security team's perspective, the biggest plus points of GeoPlugin for me are its database stability and the API's fast response time. It can track the network origin of each visitor without any additional data overhead or latency in our system. It works directly without any complex third party libraries, eliminating the risk of creating any new security loopholes (Vulnerabilities) in the code.

We have no complaints about the functionality of the tool, but the design of its main website and client panel is quite old fashioned. Although it does not affect performance, it would be better if the dashboard were a bit more modern as a security tool.

Our main challenge was to detect spam and fraud traffic from various Restricted Regions. Since integrating GeoPlugin, we have been able to easily verify the geolocation and ISP of suspicious IP addresses. I used this api in break on ip-api service. While I used its currency confirm which one I like more than ip location service becuase it had too exact accurate data. Also api does not need any subscription for a minute visotors of 120 users. Also, wordpress's woocommerce recommends it to use from its admin.

I used this in breakdown of ip-api but still it has limit of call. So after its limit it takes 130 seconds to load a single request. Don't know I also set maxrequest timeout but didn't resolve it. I support open source but this is not purely.

Geoplugin is opensource and freeware software. But after its launch there was no change on its website. Also, taking realtime data is serious work and they are keeping whole db updates such a gracious thing.
