Earthwork Take-offs Reviews

Agtek is such an amazing product to use and it is so powerful. The capabilities of this program and software are seemingly endless. What you can do with a takeoff and the accuracy it provides are amazing.

Not really much to dislike here. It is a very comprehensive software with many features. I guess you could say that it has too many features (depending on the field you are in and what you are using it for).

If you are in the construction industry, I would definitely recommend this software. It is easy to use and allows for plenty of options.

It has allowed our takeoff engineers to be much more accurate, allowing us to be much more competitive during the bid and job acquisition process.

Their support staff is fantastic. Without formal training by a supervisor who left soon after I started, AGTEK's supoort staff was able to jump start my learning. After a few years of working in it, I consider myself highly skilled. There is also a large assortment of tools that allow the company using it to make serious decisions and strategies that impact both the ability to get a job, and also the ability to make the job more profitable.

There is a higher learning curve than might be expected, though that has to do more with the complexity and potential of the software than anything else. Again, using their support staff will enable even the most basic user to further understand the program.

Before getting turned off by the price, understand that you are receiving a high-end software with a support staff that are not only highly skilled, but also genuinely proud of their product. They have a true desire to help.

It allows our company to perform in-depth analysis of the existing/proposed site conditions, and where we can strategize our assets to win the jobs. There is also an ability to export the model we create to GPS-controlled machinery in the field (using numerous file types that are compatible with names such as Topconn, Trimble, etc).

the thing that i like best about AGTEK is that it is very accurate with its volume takeoffs taking into account sloped areas and sub-grade layers.

I do not like that AGTEK will not let you input different design layers for a capping system for example. it will give you one fill volume and you have to figure out the different volumes per layer.

I am using AGTEK to do cut and fill volume reports to compare them with the quantities given to us from the bid forms.
